September 3, 1966 ~ October 18, 2019 (Age 53)


WINCHENDON- Scott A. Lafreniere, 53, a lifelong Winchendon resident, died Friday, October 18, 2019 at Heywood Hospital with his family at his side.
He was born in Winchendon on September 3, 1966, son of the late Walter E., and Audrey L. (Gauthier) Lafreniere.
Scott worked as a mason for several years and also did construction in the area. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and playing bingo. A lover of animals, Scott had nursed several animals back to health after he had found them injured.
He leaves his children, Jessica Lafreniere of Winchendon, Joshua Lafreniere of Nashua, NH, Justina Lafreniere of South Carolina, and step-daughter Erica Underwood and her husband Adam Arsenault of Winchendon; his siblings, Carla Rodenizer and her husband Bob of Fitchburg, Walter Lafreniere Jr. of Florida, Richard Lafreniere and his wife Cindy of Maine. Michael Lafreniere and his wife Kelly of Winchendon. Gary Lafreniere and his wife Julie of Maine, Dorothy Medina and her husband Raymond of Jaffrey, NH and Lisa Hawkins and her husband Leroy of Westminster; six grandchildren, Anthony, Maddison, Morgan, Kiara, Kalib, and Alessia; also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Glenn Gauthier.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. There are no calling hours.

Meghan M. (Dumont) Bray
October 21, 1987 ~ October 20, 2019 (Age 31)


ASBHURNHAM - Meghan M. (Dumont) Bray, 31 of 89 Fitchburg Road, Ashburnham, died Sunday, October 20, 2019.
She was born in Fitchburg, on October 21, 1987, the daughter of Michael E. and Teresa M. (Bates) Dumont.
Meghan grew up in Ashburnham and graduated from Oakmont High School with the Class of 2006.
She worked as a Paraprofessional at Overlook Middle School for the past several years.
Meghan was a loving generous and caring person who adored her children who were her whole world. She enjoyed camping at Cape Cod, kayaking and spending time outdoors with her children, family and friends. She also loved horseback riding.
She leaves her three children, Jamison Bray, Lacie Bray and Benjamin Bray; her parents, Michael E. and Teresa M. Dumont of Ashburnham; her brother, Michael Dumont and his wife Monica and their son Harrison of Townsend; her maternal grandmother (Mimi), Maria Bates of Leominster; her paternal grandmother, Rita Dumont of Worcester; aunts and uncles, her aunt and godmother, Cathie Leblanc and her husband (Meghan's godfather) John of Brewster; Patty McKay and her husband David of Winchendon, Tom Bates of Virginia Beach, VA; Bob Bates and his wife Diane of Lancaster, Jane Desjardins and her husband Steve of Fitchburg, Joyce Cocuzza and her husband Matt of Punta Gorda, FL, Debra Dumont of Punta Gorda, FL; and many cousins and good friends.
She was predeceased by her paternal grandfather, Louis Dumont and by her maternal grandfather, Norman Bates.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 25, 2019 at 10:30 am in St. Denis Church, 85 Main Street, Asbhurnham. Burial will follow in St. Bernard's Cemetery, Fitchburg.
Calling hours will be held Thursday, October 24, 2019 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central St., Gardner.

Faith M. Merriam

Faith M. Merriam
December 29, 1956 ~ October 13, 2019 (Age 62)


GARDNER – Faith M. (Forrest) Merriam, 62, beloved mother, wife and friend to all who knew her, passed away at home with her family Sunday October 13, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Faith, who grew up in Winchendon, and spent most of her life in Gardner, was a longtime laundry aide at the Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, and cared deeply for the residents at the center.
She was a devoted mother of one child, Daniel, whom she raised successfully. She was also a loving wife of 24 years to her second husband, Thomas, and for 12 years to her first husband Phil.
Faith was well loved by all who knew her, and was known for her dry sense of humor and selfless devotion to others, having donated greatly to charitable causes later in life. Faith attended Cornerstone Church of the Assemblies of God in Winchendon. She leaves behind her son Daniel and husband Thomas.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 25th at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.

Donald J. ONeil Sr.

Donald J. ONeil Sr.
October 18, 2019


ONeil, Donald J. Sr., lifelong resident of Dedham, MA, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2019. He was the son of the late Francis M. ONeil, and Gertrude E. ONeil. He was the brother of the late Paul ONeil, Kenneth ONeil, G. Lorraine Henry, and Joan ONeil. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy L. (Masciarelli) ONeil, six children, Donna Rando and her husband Joe of Dedham, Debbie Smith and her husband Robert of Dedham, Diane Iadonisi and her husband Robert of E. Sandwich, Denice Higley and her husband Raymond of Dedham, Doreen Lessard and her husband Jack of E. Sandwich, Donald ONeil, Jr. and his partner Robert OKeefe of Winchendon, also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was a salesman of duplicating machines for the AB Dick company for many years and a retiree from the Newton School department, where he worked in the production center, handing all the copying for the school system. He was a lover of family and nothing meant more to him than spending time with them. He felt this was his greatest accomplishment in life.
He loved to travel whether it be to Cape Cod, or his vacation home on Lake Winnipesaukee in Meredith, NH, where he and his wife have spent 50 years of vacationing and relaxing.
Don was also a Veteran of the US Army.
He was a lover of sports, whether it be the Red Sox, Patriots or Bruins, following them with a passion. He was inducted into the Dedham High School Athletic Hall of fame in 2014 for his outstanding athleticism in football, baseball and hockey at Dedham High, where he graduated in 1948.
Funeral from the George F. Doherty & Sons Wilson-Cannon Funeral Home, 456 High St., DEDHAM, on Wednesday, October 23rd at 9am, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, Dedham at 10am. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting Hours in the Funeral Home, Tuesday, October 22nd from 4-8pm. Interment Brookdale Cemetery, Dedham.
