Chamber Produces New Economic Development Video

(North Central, MA) – The North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce and its economic development affiliates, the North Central Massachusetts Development Corporation and Visit North Central Massachusetts, recently unveiled a new economic development video intended to highlight the region as a great place to live, work, visit and grow a business. The video is the third and final video in a series that was commissioned over the last year to promote the 27 communities which comprise North Central Massachusetts.

This short video includes strong visual content showcasing the dynamic and diverse nature of the region. It highlights the advantages of living and working in North Central Massachusetts, including quality of place, affordability, education, workforce and the region’s convenient proximity to Boston, Worcester and other population centers. The video also spotlights the region’s strengths in manufacturing, small business and its scenic beauty. Only two minutes and thirty-five seconds in length, the video clip creates an immediate impact and leaves the viewer with positive impressions of the region long after viewing it.

“We created this video to help tell the story of North Central Massachusetts,” said Roy M. Nascimento, President & CEO of the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce. “Our goal is to show businesses, families and young people that North Central Massachusetts is the ideal place in New England for them to build their business, career and life.”

The Chamber worked with TDO Productions to create the promotional video, which will be shared with multiple audiences, including developers, businesses, employees and residents. The video also incorporated footage from Creative Eye Productions and Wachusett Ski Area. The two previous videos focused on manufacturing, tourism and quality of life and were released in late 2018 and early 2019 respectively. The new video can be accessed via the Chamber’s website at NorthCentralMass.com and ChooseNorthCentral.com, as well as on the Chamber’s Facebook and YouTube social media platforms. The video will also be shown at select meetings and events.

This video is part of the Chamber’s continuing efforts to help promote the region and advance the economy of North Central Massachusetts. Make-A-Wish Seeks Wish Volunteers in Worcester County

Make A Wish
Make-A-Wish wish-granting volunteers Cynthia Dunsky and John Clifford with wish child Sariah

Make-A-Wish Massachusetts and Rhode Island, which creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses, is currently looking for individuals to become Wish volunteers in Worcester County. Make-A-Wish plans to grant nearly 420 wishes this year across Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Make-A-Wish is particularly seeking bilingual volunteers.

Cynthia Dunsky has been a Make-A-Wish volunteer since 2017 and recently helped grant Sariah’s wish to go to Hawaii. Sariah is a five-year-old liver transplant recipient who has undergone countless medical procedures and must still take medication to prevent her body from rejecting her liver. Her wish gave her a chance to just be a little child and have her dreams come true.

“It is one of the most gratifying feelings to be able to play a role in creating a magical time for a sick child and their family. To be able to give a child such a beautiful gift in the midst of their journey, so that they can just be a kid and enjoy something that they love. It is so humbling and rewarding to know that my contribution has put a smile on a face and a cherished memory in a heart,” said Cynthia.

Wish volunteers work in teams of two to create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses and have support from the Make-A-Wish staff. All wish granting volunteers must be over 21 and submit an application, reference and background check; and complete an online or in-person training to begin granting wishes. Take the first step and register for an upcoming training at massri.wish.org/volunteer.
