Stephen G. Walsh

STEPHEN G. WALSH
1969 ~ December 8, 2019 (Age 50)

Stephen G. Walsh of Winchendon, MA, passed away suddenly on December 8. He was 50. A longtime resident of Belmont, MA, he is survived by his wife, Evelin (Bueno) Walsh, his beloved children, Stephanie, Christopher, and Kiana Walsh, and two step-daughters, Amanda and Jazmine Alejandro. He leaves behind his parents William G. Walsh and Kristine Larson, as well as his sister, Erika (Walsh) Fitzpatrick and brother-in-law, Matthew Fitzpatrick, and his beloved nieces and nephew. He leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends that were like family, and he will be truly missed.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 28, at 11:00 a.m., at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon, MA. David S. Garfield

DAVID S. GARFIELD
September 21, 1952 ~ December 15, 2019 (Age 67)

WINCHENDON – David S. Garfield, 67, of 7 Maple Place, died peacefully Sunday afternoon, December 15, 2019 in Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, with his family at his side.

He was born in Marlboro, MA on September 21, 1952, son of the late Elmond F. “Lucky” Garfield Jr. and Cecelia T. (Gaucher) Garfield and was a 1970 graduate of Marlboro High School. Dave proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force, beginning a year after his graduation. He had lived in Winchendon for 31 years.

Dave had worked for the Town of Winchendon Housing Authority as a facilities coordinator until his retirement. Active in the church and civic community, Dave was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and Winchendon Lions Club. Additionally, he was a member of Eugene M. Connor Post #193 American Legion. An outdoorsman, Dave enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and woodworking.

He leaves his wife of 41 years, Carol A. (Robinson) Garfield; two children, Jennifer O. Garfield of Baldwinville and Matt Garfield and his wife Melissa of Wells, ME; his brothers and sisters, Richard E. Garfield and his wife Nancy of Marlboro, Donald W. Garfield and his wife Joyce of Brookfield, Helene Martioski and her husband Joseph Deneutte of Winchendon and Lorraine C. Garfield; two grandchildren, Madison Picard and Aidan Picard, as well as nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 5 PM to 7 PM. with a funeral service at 7 P.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.

Members of Eugene M. Connor Post #193 will conduct military honors at 6:30 P.M.

Lisa Lee Dorval

LILA LEE DORVAL
November 29, 1925 ~ December 14, 2019 (Age 94)

WINCHENDON - Lila Lee (Colburn) Dorval, 94 of Winchendon died peacefully December 14, 2019. She was born in Winchendon November 29, 1925 and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon.

She leaves her family, Dr. Bruce R. Dorval of Manhattan now deceased, Brian C. Dorval, his wife Cindy and son Brian C. Dorval, Jr of Worcester, Sheila A. Dorval of York, ME, Dr. Brent L. Dorval and his wife Carolyn of Douglas and Susan Dorval Dorsey, her husband James and daughter Gwendolyn K. Gagne of Shirley. Her husband, Raymond E. Dorval, died in 1990.

Our mom owned and operated two independent shoe stores in Winchendon and Gardner before joining the Gardner Court House. She loved her family, music, theater, going to Boston and York, going out to dinner and of course shopping. She always was a positive person never looking in the rear view mirror.

Calling hours in Stone Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon will be held Friday, December 20, 2019 from 10 AM to Noon. A funeral service will follow Friday at 12 Noon with lunch to follow at the Glen Caffe.

In lieu of flowers please donate to the Broadview Assisted Living for the Employees Appreciation Fund since in the four years she resided there she was very happy and they treated her like gold.

Harold J. Paul

HAROLD J. PAUL
August 2, 1935 ~ December 15, 2019 (Age 84)

WINCHENDON – Harold J. Paul, 84, of 31 Spring Place, died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 15, 2019 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner surrounded by his family.

He was born in Lancaster, MA on August 2, 1935, son on Alfred and Mary Ann (Drauleau) Paul and had been a resident of Winchendon for many years.

Harold worked for Winchendon Furniture and then for the Town of Winchendon Water Department for 34 years until his retirement. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Baldwinville, the Winchendon Golden Agers, a 24-year member of the Winchendon Fire Department, was a school crossing guard in town for 21 years, and was the maintenance supervisor and caretaker at Glenwood Mobile Home Park.

He leaves his loving wife, Priscilla A. (Danielson) Paul of Winchendon; his three daughters, Cheryl Paul-Bradley and her husband John of Troy NH, Brenda Kosakowski and her husband Steven of Ashburnham, and Karen LaValley and her husband William of Newark OH; two brothers, Leo Paul of Winchendon and George Paul of Templeton; a sister, Dorothy Norris of Baldwinville; six grandchildren, Zane, Thomas, Ian, Arianna, Danielle and Zachary; and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by many brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 10 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.

Calling hours will be held in the funeral home Friday, December 20, 2019 from 5 to 7 P.M.

Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery at a later date.

Paula M. Goulston

PAULA M. GOULSTON
November 30, 1960 ~ December 14, 2019 (Age 59)

WINCHENDON – Paula M. (Hogan) Goulston, 59, of 55 Town Farm Road, died peacefully at home Saturday afternoon, December 14, 2019, with her family at her side.

She was born in Marlborough, MA on November 30, 1960, daughter of Sylvia (Johnson) Ainsleigh of Ashburnham and the late Richard Hogan. Paula was a graduate of Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School. She and her husband had lived in Winchendon for many years.

Paula had worked as a secretary for Chair City Oil Company and Graves Concrete as well as working for her husband’s business, The Hope Group. Her hobbies were gardening and cooking.

In addition to her mother, she leaves her husband of 19 years, Christopher C. Goulston; two children, Michael D. Goulston and his significant other Kristine of Worcester and Kimberly A. Goulston and her fiancé Samuel Hutchful of Fitchburg; a granddaughter Aaliyah Hutchful and a brother Peter Hogan of Ashburnham. A brother, Andrew Hogan, preceded her in death.

Calling hours in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon are Saturday, December 21st from 5 to 7 P.M.

A memorial service in the funeral home will follow at 7 P.M.

GEORGE E. SPAULDING
April 20, 1938 ~ December 16, 2019 (Age 81)

KEENE, NH – George E. Spaulding, 81, of 86 Winter Street, formerly of Fitzwilliam, died peacefully Monday afternoon, December 16, 2019 in the Westwood Center for Nursing, Keene.

He was born in Rindge, NH on April 20, 1938, son of the late Maurice W. and Evelyn M. (May) Spaulding and had lived in Fitzwilliam for many years.

George was a 1957 graduate of Lyndon Institute in Lyndon, Vt. He had worked as a woodworker for various woodworking shops and had also worked at Independent Lock and the former Alaska Freezer. In his earlier year, George enjoyed hunting, fishing and skiing. He most recently attended Christian Life Fellowship in Swanzey, NH.

He leaves a sister, Nancy Gordon and her husband Richard of Winchendon, MA as well as nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 23, 2019 at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. A calling hour will precede the funeral Monday from 10 to 11 A.M.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Winchendon, MA in the spring.

MAUREEN GIANCOLA
May 5, 1956 ~ December 14, 2019 (Age 63)

Maureen (ODonnell) Giancola, 63, of Hudson and Lake Boon in Stow, passed away at Reservoir Rehab in Marlboro on December 14th, 2019. Maureen was born at Marlboro Hospital on May 5th, 1956, a daughter of the late Hudson Police Sgt. Charles and Patricia (Wallace) ODonnell. Raised in Hudson, she graduated from Hudson High in 1974. Maureen is survived by her daughter, Gina Giancola of Winchendon and her son, Randy Giancola of Marlboro and her three grandchildren. She is also survived by her beloved companion Robert Brennan. In addition to her parents, Maureen is predeceased by her sisters, Sharon Girard and Kathleen Headberg. She was also predeceased by Bobs son, Matthew Brennan. She was an employee of Partners Healthcare and Yours and Mine in Hudson for many years. Maureen cherished her time with family and with her love, Bob Brennan. She leaves us with many fond memories of Sebago Lake, Lake Boon, and the Bahamas. Her family would like to thank her caregivers, especially her niece, Stephanie Keane, the Reservoir Rehab and Marlboro Hospital for their loving care in her final days. Services for Maureen will be private. Tighe Hamilton Regional Funeral Home is honored to assist with Maureens arrangements. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
