Gerald W. Maker

GERALD W. MAKER
May 15, 1950 ~ January 10, 2020 (Age 69)

BEDFORD – Gerald W. “Gerry” Maker, 69, of Bedford, formerly of Shrewsbury and Gardner, died Friday evening, January 10, 2020 in West Roxbury Veterans’ Administration Hospital.

He was born in Worcester on May 15, 1950, son of the later Wilber and Sylvia A. (Shaw) Maker and was a graduate of Shrewsbury High School. He later earned his Associates Degree from Mt. Wachusett Community College. In his high school years, Gerry was the champion breast stroke swimmer of New England.

Gerry proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Gerry had worked at the Crystal House in Gardner and had managed two group homes for mentally challenged individuals in Winchendon. For the last ten years, Gerry had lived in Bedford Veterans Quarters in Bedford, MA, where he was known as a gifted writer with a great sense of humor and very kind heart.

He leaves his wife of 26 years, Linda J. (Morlock) Maker; a stepdaughter Kerry Murphy of Fitchburg; a granddaughter Kia Street of Philadelphia; a brother, Thomas Maker of Bolton, a sister, Sylvia Faurie of FL as well as nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Jeffrey Maker and Richard Maker, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 7, 2020 at 10 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. Military honors will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.

A calling hour in the funeral home will precede the service Friday from 9 to 10 A.M.

Joyce Perry

JOYCE PERRY
November 21, 1944 ~ January 14, 2020 (Age 75)

Joyce E. (Rouleau) Perry, 75, of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, January 14, 2020. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Ludlow on November 21, 1944, a beloved daughter of the late Leo J. and Yvonne M. (Beauregard) Rouleau. She was raised in Winchendon, had lived in Brighton and later lived in East Longmeadow for over 50 years before returning to Springfield. She was employed as a manager at the Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company in Springfield and retired in 1995. She was a communicant of Saint Michael Church in East Longmeadow. During her leisure time, she enjoyed spending time with her birds. She loved animals and most of all loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank B. Perry, Jr. who was Called Home on June 20, 2019. They were married on March 29, 1997 at the Wistariahurst Museum in Holyoke and were blessed with over 22 years of happiness together. She leaves her two loving daughters, Yvonne L. Tota of Palmer and Tanya M. Ruel and her husband, Timothy, of Springfield; her two stepchildren, Julie A. Perry-Rule of Tolland, CT and Frank B. Perry VI and his wife, Sarah, of Columbia, CT; her cherished granddaughter, Tessa R. Ruel; her seven step-grandchildren, Ashlyn Zielinski, Terry Hensel, Jr., Shayla Hensel, Mariana Rule, Dalton Rule, Vanessa Perry and Frank B. Perry VII; her step great grandson, Emrick Hubbard; her sister, Sylvia L. Martin of Abbeville, SC; her step son-in-law, David Zielinski; and her many nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Perry, Tota and Rouleau families. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her step-daughter, Mary A. Zielinski; and her brother, Norman Rouleau. Michael Raymond Pucci

MICHAEL RAYMOND PUCCI
November 12, 1965 ~ January 16, 2020 (Age 54)

Michael Raymond Pucci, 54, of Ashby, died Thursday, January 16, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was married to Terri Pucci with whom he celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary June 14th.

Michael was born in Lowell, on November 12, 1965, he was the son of Rita Pucci and the late Thomas Pucci of Chelmsford. He graduated from Chelmsford High School and was currently working at Integra Bio Sciences in Hudson, NH as a Tool Maker/Machinist.

He was a communicant of St. Mary Church.

Michael was a devoted family man who spread so much joy through his infectious laugh and smile. He enjoyed hosting family BBQs and you could always find him behind the grill. Michael also enjoyed going for a cruise in his Jeep, fishing and gardening but most importantly spending time with his family.

Besides his wife he is survived by his son, Michael A. Pucci and his fiancé Kelsey Liles and two grandchildren, Michael L. Pucci and Daniel Pucci, of Winchendon, MA; a daughter, Sara and her husband Michael Paradis of Fitchburg, MA; brothers, Stephen and his wife Elizabeth Pucci of Reading, MA, David and his wife Melissa Pucci of Reading, MA; sisters, Laurie and her husband Steven Morency of Townsend, MA, Linda and her husband Louis English of Farmington, NH, Debra Pucci of Pepperell, MA, and Diane and her husband John "Jack" Murphy of Pepperell, MA; and many nieces and nephews.

Heather M. Phillips

HEATHER M. PHILLIPS
October 1, 1986 ~ January 14, 2020 (Age 33)

GARDNER – Heather M. Phillips, 33, of 16 June Street, died peacefully Tuesday afternoon, January 14, 2020 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester, with her family at her side.

She was born in Fitchburg on October 1, 1986, daughter of Kristin L. (Gilhooly) Phillips Huntoon of Gardner and the late Brian S. Phillips and grew up in Gardner. Heather earned her GED from Mt. Wachusett Community College and had most recently worked at Miles Kedex Company in Westminster.

Heather was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Boston Celtics. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

In addition to her mother, she leaves four children, Carter James Marois, Jordan Michael Marois, April Chamberland and Jaxson Brian Scott Phillips; two brothers, Christopher Phillips and Matthew Phillips of Winchendon; her fiancé Brian Marois; her stepfather James O. Huntoon; her grandmother Patricia Gilhooly of Gardner and grandfather Thomas Gilhooly and his wife Debra of FL. She was preceded in death by her father Brian S. Phillips; her uncle David Phillips; a cousin Justin Phillips and a good friend Mallorie Day.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, January 25, 2020 from 1 to 3 P.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon, with a funeral service to be held at 3 P.M.

Thomas M. Brown

THOMAS M. BROWN
October 23, 1952 ~ January 15, 2020 (Age 67)

Thomas M. Brown, 67 years old, of Leominster, died Wednesday, January 15th, 2020 in UMass Memorial ~ University Campus Worcester after a long battle with declining health.

Thomas was born October 23, 1952 in Concord, MA. He was predeceased by his parents Edmond and Madeline (Granberg) Brown of Acton, MA. He is survived by his wife of 35 years Roberta M. (Poitras) Brown of Leominster. He leaves behind two sons Jeremy T. Brown and his wife Amanda of Gardner, MA and his son Benjamin Brown of Fitchburg, MA. Thomas leaves behind two brothers; Edmond Brown of Leominster, MA; David Brown of Winchendon, MA; two sisters; Judy Brown of Myrtle Beach, SC and Jean Infante of Lancaster, MA.

Thomas' funeral will be held on Tuesday, January, 21st from the Silas F. Richardson & Son Funeral Home, 106 West St., Leominster, with a 11 am funeral mass in Holy Family of Nazareth Church, 750 Union St. Leominster. Burial is private. Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 20th from 5-7 pm in the funeral home. Francis J. Pare

FRANCIS J. "FRANK" PARÉ
1954 ~ January 17, 2020 (Age 65)

Francis Joseph "Frank" Paré, age 65, a construction manager for Lifestyle Homes in Derry, NH, died unexpectedly on Friday morning, January 17, 2020, after suffering an aneurysm at his Salem home earlier in the morning. He was the newlywed husband of Lorna-Faye (Gath) Paré, with whom after seven years together, took their vows of matrimony last month on December 14, 2019. Besides his "bride," he leaves three children, Kevin M. Paré and his wife Jeralee of Greenville, NH, Jonathan F. Paré of Winchendon, and Kimberly A. Paré of Winchendon; two step-children, Jason A. Pecci of Lexington, KY, and Joel D. Pecci and his wife Shannon of Tewksbury; ten grandchildren, Kaylee, Madison, Emily, Jacob, Riely, Trenton, Lexi, Jonathan Jr., Jaden, and Kourtney; four step-grandchildren, Mariah, Tyler, Lucas, and Isabella; one great grandson, Grayson; and friends throughout New England.

Visiting Hours will be held on Wednesday, January 22, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) Tewksbury Center, Ph. Esther M. (Laford) Boudreau

ESTHER M. (LAFORD) BOUDREAU
April 2, 1931 ~ January 21, 2020 (Age 88)

Esther M. (Laford) Boudreau, 88, died Tuesday morning, January 21, 2020 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare in Athol.

Born in Athol on April 2, 1931, she was a daughter of Andrew and Alfrida (Landry) Laford and grew up in Athol, graduating from Athol High in 1949.

On April 28, 1956, Esther married Joseph L. Boudreau and they enjoyed close to 60 years of marriage until his death on February 12, 2016.

Esther worked as a CNA for many years, first at the Fleetwood Nursing Home (now, Quabbin Valley Healthcare) and later a the Baldwinville Nursing Home. She also had sewn parachutes for Parachutes, Inc. in Orange.

An avid reader, Esther also was a great dancer and enjoyed both square and round dancing. An animal lover, she also enjoyed Sunday drives and knitting.

Esther is survived by her sons, Bernie Boudreau and his wife, Karen, of Northfield, and Larry Boudreau of Athol; a daughter, Maria LeBlanc and her husband, Jim, of Athol; grandsons, Andrew Hagie of Orange, William LeBlanc of Athol, Christopher Boudreau of Pennsylvania, Timothy Boudreau and Nick Boudreau, both of Wilbraham, and Shawn Stanper of Connecticut; granddaughters, Chantel McGlone of Athol and Alison Boudreau of Wilbraham; great grandchildren, Jack-Martin Johnson, Weston L. Johnson, Alexis Stanper and Anthony Stanper; brothers, Edward Laford of Winchendon and Greg Laford of Keene, NH; and several nephews and nieces.

Besides her parents and husband, Esther was predeceased by a son, Jeff Boudreau, and a daughter, Annette Hagie, a brother, Michael Laford and a sister, Joyce Thompson.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 27, 2020 from 6-8 p.m. at Witty's Funeral Home, 158 South Main Street, Orange.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Saint Mary's Church, 19 Congress Street, Orange, with Fr. Shaun O'Connor officiating.

Interment at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon will be private.

Nada L. Foster

NADA L. FOSTER
February 4, 1923 ~ January 16, 2020 (Age 96)

RINDGE, NH – Nada L. (Donaway) Foster, 96, of 435 Route 119, died peacefully Thursday morning, January 16, 2020 in Genesis Keene Center, Keene, NH, after a period of declining health.

She was born in Winchendon, MA on February 4, 1923, daughter of the late Arthur and Sarah (Allen) Donaway and was a 1941 graduate of Murdock High School. She was a resident of Rindge for 38 years.

Nada worked as a dental assistant for 18 years for the late Dr. Savage. She was an active member of Rindge Congregational Church and was well known for her cooking. Nada had been the caretaker for her late mother for many years and was an animal lover. She touched the lives of many people.

Her husband, Harry W. Foster, died in 1995. She leaves a son, David A. Foster of Rindge and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Nada was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters, Alexander Donaway, Maurice Donaway, Carol Thompson, Evelyn Rice and Lila Hallquist.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 10:30 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. A calling hour from 9:30 to 10:30 AM Saturday will precede the service.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Winchendon in the spring.

GARY W. MARTORELLA
1958 ~ January 13, 2020 (Age 61)

Gary W. Martorella, age 61, U.S. Army Vet., formerly of Tewksbury, passed away on Jan. 13, 2020. Beloved husband of Kathy J. (Crossland). Father of Jillian S. Martorella of Salem, NH. Son of Carmen L. and Marion (Jenkins) Martorella of Tewksbury. Brother of Michael D. Martorella and his wife Carina of Winchendon. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Memorial calling hours will be Monday, Jan. 20, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury, immediately followed by his Memorial Prayer Service to be held in the funeral home. CAROL (RICHARDS) HIGGINS
May 8, 1936 ~ January 20, 2020 (Age 83)

Carol (Richards) Higgins, 83, of Westmoreland and formerly of Jaffrey, passed away peacefully at Maplewood Nursing Home on January 20, 2020. She was born in Winchendon, MA on May 8, 1936, the daughter of Edward and Margaret (Finn) Richards.

Carol was raised in Winchendon and graduated from Murdock High School in the Class of 1956. She enjoyed a long career of more than 30 years as an Inspector at New Hampshire Ball Bearing. Carol was a devoted member of the Jaffrey Bible Church.

Her greatest passions included her faith, family and spending time with her grandchildren.

Carol is survived by her two daughters Jennifer Sandquist of Antrim and Maureen Payne of Bennington; her grandchildren Matthew, Hannah, Justin, Tristan and her great grandchild Kason; along with her sister Nancy Deese of WA and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Clarence Higgins, Jr., her sister Margaret Thomasetti and her brother Francis Richards.

A Memorial service will be held at the Jaffrey Bible Church, 133 Turnpike Road, Jaffrey, NH on February 1, 2020 at 11:00 am. Burial will take place in the spring at Hillside Cemetery, Hancock where she will buried alongside her husband.
