ROBIN M. COVEY
December 9, 1960 ~ June 25, 2020 (Age 59)

GARDNER – Robin M. Covey, 59, of 25 Wright Street, died June 25, 2020 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus, Worcester.

He was born in Gardner on December 9, 1960, son of the late Earl and Laura (Goodwin) Covey and had lived in the Gardner area for most of his life.

Robin enjoyed fishing, four wheeling and barbecuing with family and friends.

He leaves his children, Robb M. Covey of Gardner, Shyann Covey of PA, Richard Covey of Gardner and Tiffany Covey of VT; a brother, Harold Covey of Winchendon; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Richard Covey and Marshall Covey, predeceased him.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 1 P.M. in Pine Grove Cemetery, Patriots Road, Templeton.

ERNEST R. ROBERTO
December 23, 1934 ~ JuLY 3, 2020 (Age 85)

Ernest R. Roberto, 85 years old, of Leominster, died Friday, July 3, 2020. He is survived by his wife Margaret H. (Boudreau) Roberto, three daughters; Christina and her husband Victor Ramos of Leominster, Stephanie and her husband Kenneth Hastings of Winchendon and Diana and her husband Kevin Wells of Leominster, as well as his son; Anthony Roberto of Leominster. He was also survived by his sisters; Sylvia Sicuro and Bettina "Betty" Schofield of Leominster.

Ernest legacy leaves behind 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Alphonse Roberto and Francis Roberto, 3 sisters, Ann Roberto, Virginia Desaulnier, and Judy Bowen.

Ernest was born December 23, 1934 in Leominster, son of Frank and Matilda (Capasso) Roberto. He graduated from Leominster High School and was a U.S. Air Force Korean War Veteran. Ernest had worked at Cutler Army Hospital in Fort Devens, Ma for numerous years.

Ernest was a family man with a warm heart. He always welcomed those around him and his home was a safe spot for anyone who ever needed it. He was a talented man who loved to paint, make model airplanes, he loved his radio, and his animals.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 13th, at 12:00 in St. Leo's Church located at 108 Main Street, Leominster. Military honors will be held at St. Leo's as well. No calling hours will be held prior to the service. There will be no graveside service but he will be buried at Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Winchendon, Ma.

MARJORIE LIIMATAINEN
February 24, 1931 ~ JuLY 6, 2020 (Age 89)

Marjorie Liimatainen, 89, of Jaffrey, died peacefully on Monday, July 6, 2020 at the Jaffrey Rehabilitation and Nursing Center after a period of failing health.

Mrs. Liimatainen was born on February 24, 1931 in Winchendon, MA, daughter of the late Francois and Sarah (Berard) St. Pierre. She attended local schools and lived in Jaffrey for most of her life. For many years, she worked at D.D. Bean & Sons, and later retired from Teleflex.

Marjorie was a member of the Jaffrey VFW Memorial Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing BINGO and cribbage, excursions to Foxwood, and particularly dining out with family and friends. She was an accomplished seamstress and an avid knitter.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, Niilo A. Liimatainen. She was also predeased by her daughter, Nancy (Heinonen) Martin; her brothers, Francois (Pat), Ernest, Philip and Eugene St. Pierre; and her sisters, Alta Wheelen, Lucille (Sue) Zatowski, and Helen Tucker.

She is survived by her daughter, Laurie (Heinonen) Brown of Lynn, MA; her granddaughter, Alyssa Brown of Billerica, MA; and her sister, Juliette (DeeDee) Floria of Winchendon, MA. Marjorie also was the beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.

At Marjorie’s request, there will be no calling hours. Burial at Conant Cemetery in Jaffrey will be private and at the convenience of the family.

GUY P. CLARET
1942 ~ July 2, 2020

Guy P Claret Died on July 2 in Boston from natural causes. He was born in New Orleans, LA in 1942 and lived in many cities and countries before settling for most of his life in Winchendon. He is survived by his wife, Cala and two daughters, Nicole Ferreira, her husband Teo of Newton and Laurie Claret, her husband Jon of Stamford, CT and his Sister Sallie Garrity, her husband Bob of Colorado Springs, CO He also has two nieces and four nephews currently living in Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Anna Marie Claret and two brothers, Donald Claret and Tom Claret.

Guy was self-employed, specializing in electronic musical instrument repair. He was an avid animal lover and adored his dogs, Sam Adams and Buttercup who miss him terribly. He enjoyed the simple things in life and his family and friends meant the world to him.

ANN SARA WILLIAMS
April 12, 1937 ~ JuLY 6, 2020 (Age 83)

Ann Sara (Morissette) Williams, 83, of Keene, died peacefully in her home on Monday, July 6, 2020.

She was born in Keene on April 12, 1937, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Bell) Morissette. A lifelong resident of Keene, she was a 1955 graduate of Our Lady of Monadnock Academy in Jaffrey. She received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in education from Keene State College.

Mrs. Williams reflected fondly on her early position as the aquatics and playground director at the Wendell P. Clark Memorial in Winchendon, Mass., where she would continue her professional teaching career in the Winchendon school system for 26 years, retiring in 1998. She was a communicant of St. Bernard Parish in Keene, a member of St. Anne Sodality and the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary.

She will be greatly missed by many, especially her son, Barry T. Williams; her daughter in-law, Deborah L. (Frye); and her grandsons: Lt. Thomas E. Williams, USMC; and Paul H. Williams, of Old Greenwich, Conn. Additionally, her nieces and nephews: Mary Margaret Mallat (David Deck); Dr. Ann Marie Mallat; Robert L. Mallat III; Roxanne Morissette; Wendy (Phil) Chadwick; Mikell Morissette; Tara (Bryan) Archibald; Col. Robert (Cynthia) Lowell USA (Ret); Sharyn (Robert) Dawson; and John Hobel. She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Norma T. (Morissette) Mallat; her brother in-law, Robert L. Mallat Jr.; her brother, Paul Morissette; and her husband, William T. Williams. She cherished her many friendships and loved her Catholic faith.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 10, 2020 at 11 a.m. in St. Bernard Church, 185 Main St., Keene. The funeral mass will be streamed live on the DiLuzio Foley and Fletcher Funeral Homes’ (Foley Funeral Home) Facebook page starting at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Main Street, Keene. Calling hours for Mrs. Williams will be private.

EDWARD KENT SPOTTSWOOD
March 23, 1953 ~ April 18, 2020 (Age 67)

Edward Kent Spottswood, 67, of Glocester, R. I., passed away suddenly on April 18th, 2020 at home. Born on March 23, 1953, in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Leo and Barbara Spottswood. Raised in Sudbury, he was a 1971 graduate of Lincoln Sudbury Regional High School and obtained a liberal arts degree from Community College of Rhode Island.

Kent pursued a career in journalism working as a copy editor for the Woonsocket Call in Woonsocket, R. I. Followed by technical support for Cox Communications before retiring in 2010 due to health issues.

He loved the New England area, taking an interest in its history, its folklore, both in reading and writing about it. His childhood camping days generated a love for nature and a passion to record it photographically as he hiked throughout the region. And above all, he loved music, writing songs and performing at the Stomping Ground in Putnam, Connecticut every week, never wanting to miss a Sunday there.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Tina Spottswood; his sister, Diane Spottswood of Sudbury, his daughter, Alicia Berrospe of Winchendon, his son, Alexander Spottswood of Providence, R. I. and a step son, Jamison Odone of LaVale, Maryland. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Along with his family, he will be missed by many close friends who shared his interests and appreciated his talents.

A celebration of his life will be planned and annouced at a later date.

JAMES E. HORAN
January 26, 1935 ~ July 2, 2020 (Age 85)

James E. Horan Sr., 85, of Winchendon, MA died July 2, 2020. He was born January 26, 1935, in Boston, MA, son of the late John and Irene (McGee) Horan. James served in the US Navy from 1954 through 1958, aboard the USS Lookout, achieving rank of SN. He received the National Defense Service Medal.

Mr. Horan had worked as a custodian at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

He is survived by two sons; James Horan Jr., of Gardner, MA, Jamie Horan of Winchendon, MA, one daughter; Jessie Greska and her husband Robert of Leominster, and two grandchildren; Adam Greska and his wife Kyla, Laura and her husband Patrick Sargent, and great granddaughter Lydia.

He was predeceased by his wife Lydia (Chaves) Horan, and brothers, John Horan, Leo Horan and Charles Horan.

A service will be held, Saturday, July 18, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Jessie and Bob Greska's home, 33 Crestfield Lane, Leominster, MA.
