WINCHENDON - Maureen D. (Jeffers) Ehnstrom, 73, of 15 Jackson Avenue, died unexpectedly Monday, March 15, 2021.

Maureen (Renee) was born in Winchendon on May 6, 1947, daughter of the late Emmett and Margaret K. (Sullivan) Jeffers. Her mother referred to her as her favorite little "Chickadee"; she was a happy child with a great sense of humor who would willingly accommodate others (especially her older more dominant twin sisters). She was a dedicated student graduating from Cardinal Cushing College and Mt. Wachusett Community College School of Nursing.

A registered nurse for many years, Maureen worked at Heywood Hospital, Athol Hospital, the former Open Arms Nursing Home, Birchwood Manor, and the former Eastwood Pines Nursing Home. She really enjoyed caring for the sick and elderly, treating her patients with compassion and kindness. That kindness was extended to the care of her many pets over the years. She was frequently found pushing a stroller with an infirmed elderly dog or cat down Central street. An avid runner, Maureen ran 5Ks, 10Ks and half marathons. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church and enjoyed aerobic dancing.

Her husband of 39 years, Alan H. Ehnstrom, died in 2020. She leaves two children, Michael Corbosiero and his wife Lisa of San Diego, CA and Zoey (Corbosiero) Walters and her husband Chris Uber of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, Nicholas and Lucas Corbosiero, Madison and Hunter Uber; two sisters, Betty Barry of Westminster and Kitty Paquette of Cleveland, OH as well as nieces and nephews.

Maureen found joy in spending time with her children, doing her best to keep them entertained and happy. She was a very engaging mother and friend, always up for the next adventure, whether it be a pub crawl, deep sea fishing or celebrating Mardi Gras in Brazil. She was trusting and gullible, falling for every April Fools' joke, no matter how unbelievable it was. She had a great sense of humor and laughed at everything with a wonderful, infectious laugh. She loved her family, friends and animals; her kindness and sense of humor will be dearly missed.
