RAY TYLER
September 8, 1942 ~ August 24, 2021 (Age 78)

Matthews - Mr. Ray John Tyler "John" ,78, of Matthews, NC passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021 with his wife at his side.

John was born September 8, 1942, in Clinton, MA, to Martha L. Colligan and Ray J. Tyler and spent his youth growing up in Lancaster, MA. John loved golfing and sailing. He settled in Matthews 23 years ago and married Eileen Ann Whitehouse in December of 2000.

He is survived by his wife Eileen; children Jacqueline Wehmeyer (Bill) of Gardner, MA, Karen Bushey (Mike) of Winchendon, MA, and Gayle Anderholm, of Athol, MA, Kimberly Tyler and Erik Nilson of VT, Bobby Rand (Beverly), Moscow, ME, Carrie Davidson (Nick) Callahan, FL, Joseph Romano and Mia Mazza of San Francisco, CA. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 15 Great Grandchildren, sisters Judy Currie (Jerry), of Leominster, MA, Joan Fortmiller of Hudson, MA, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.

David John Brown

DAVID JOHN BROWN
August 27, 2021 (Age 73)

David John Brown, 73, of Winchendon, formerly of Acton, devoted husband, father and grandfather and retired Superintendent of the Acton Highway Department, died on August 27th, 2021 at Mass General Hospital in Boston, following a short but brave battle with cancer.

A lifelong family man, Dave was born in 1948 in Concord to parents Edmond and Madeline (Granberg) Brown of Acton. Dave met his wife Midge in 1970 and they married on September 17th, 1972. Their friendship, humor, loyalty and devotion to each other made their forty-eight year marriage, one for the lesson books.

In addition to his adored wife Midge Brown, children Dale and wife Kelly Brown of Boxboro, Kim and husband Brian Cobb, recently of Myrtle Beach, SC., Dave is mourned by his three energetic and joy-filled grandchildren, Gavin, Liam and Addie, his three siblings, Ed, Judy and Jean and many loving nieces and nephews. Dave was predeceased by his younger brother Tom in 2020.

Visiting hours will be held at Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave., Acton, MA. 01720 on September 2nd from 4 - 7 P.M. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday morning at 9:30 A.M., followed by burial in Acton's Woodlawn Cemetery.
