Alice M. Ruschioni

ALICE M. RUSCHIONI
November 12, 1929 ~ April 11, 2020 (age 90)

WINCHENDON – Alice M. (Walus) Ruschioni, 90, formerly of 56 Webster Street, died peacefully Saturday morning, April 11, 2020 in Alliance Health at Baldwinville, due to complications from the COVID 19 Virus.

She was born in Winchendon on November 12, 1929 and was a graduate of Murdock High School.

Alice was a lifelong resident of Winchendon and had worked as a dishwasher for approximately seven years at The Winchendon School. Her interests and hobbies were sewing, knitting, gardening and taking care of plants. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family.

Her husband of 50 years, Bruno S. Ruschioni, died in 2000. She leaves her son, Ricci B. Ruschioni and his wife Terri of Winchendon; three grandchildren, Ricci B. Ruschioni Jr. of Winchendon, Randi Arsenault and her husband Carey of Winchendon and Traci Ruschioni of Fitchburg and five great grandchildren. The last remaining member of her large family, all of her brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Private funeral services will be held in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Winchendon.

Conception A. Santos

CONCEPTION A. "CONNIE" (SOUSA) SANTOS
August 12, 1920 ~ April 8, 2020 (age 99)

LOWELL - Conception A. 'Connie' (Sousa) Santos, 99 of Lowell, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Northwood Nursing Home. She was the widow of the late Roland M. Santos, who passed away in 2001 after 55 years of marriage.

Connie was born in Lowell on August 12, 1920 and was a daughter of the late John Sousa and the late Mary A. (Camara) Sousa. She was raised in Mt. Vernon, NY, and was educated in the area, graduating from Mt. Vernon High School with the class of 1939.

In 1946, Connie and Roland were married and relocated to Lowell, where she worked as a stitcher in the Lowell Mills, mostly at Lowell Lingerie until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Anthony Church and was a member of the Holy Ghost Society and the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. She enjoyed walking from the Highlands to Shedd Park, and reading. Although she had many passions throughout her life, spending time with her family, especially baby sitting her great grandchildren, brought her the most happiness.

Connie is survived by two children, Roland A. Santos and his wife, Rae of Lowell, and Patricia Freitas and her significant other, Robert Clegg of Chelmsford; and her six grandchildren, Raeanne Santos of Lowell, Tony Santos and his wife, Susan of Hudson, NH, Guy Santos and his wife, Tina of Winchendon, MA, Steven Santos and his wife, Melissa of Lowell, Tanya Coutu of Chelmsford, and Dena Lusakhpuryan and her husband, Alex of Lowell.

She is also survived by her beloved fifteen great grandchildren, Joshua and Desirae Tremblay, Ryan, Andrew and Anthony Santos, Joseph Jardine, Cassandra and Madelyn Santos, Alex and Evandra Santos, Jacquelyn Coutu, Rylee Coutu and her husband, Teddy Panagiatopouls, and Lily Coutu, Brady and Marina Lusakhpuryan; and two great-great grandchildren, Ari and Ruby Panagiatopoulos; her sister, Agnes Crocco of West Palm Beach, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

She was welcomed into heaven by her siblings, the late August, John and Herbert Sousa, the late Bella White, the late Doris Wool, the late Tillie DiCintio, the late Clara Sousa, and the late Delores Hobson.

Jayne-Ann Boucher

JAYNE-ANN BOUCHER
November 12, 1929 ~ April 14, 2020 (age 63)

Gardner--Jayne-Ann Boucher lost her battle with cancer at the age of 63 on April 14, 2020.

She was born in Fitchburg, lived there, and was also a resident of Winchendon for over 20 years. Jayne is the child of Patricia A. Boucher of Gardner.

Jayne graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1974. Her first job was at the old Capital Toys in Fitchburg. She then worked at Fitchburg Savings Bank and later went to Verizon in Fitchburg and transferred to Gardner where she worked for almost 20 years while living in Winchendon. Most recently worked at Walmart in Rindge, NH for 5 years.

Jayne loved country music. She enjoyed going to line dancing with friends and traveled to Nashville to be part of the Country FanFest. She was very much into NASCAR, her favorite drivers were Dale Earnhardt and his son Dale Earnhardt, Jr.

She went several times to Daytona to watch the races. She also attended New Hampshire Speedway races in Loudon with family several times. She would always watch NASCAR races on tv. She was a Red Sox and Patriots fan, loving both sports. She went to Fenway Park several times with her family.

She was a longtime caretaker of her mother Patricia Boucher; she was a wonderful daughter and more. Her love and care of her mom was beyond special. They had a few cats, and their love of them was pretty special. Leaving behind Thomasina and Samantha.

Besides her mother, Jayne leaves behind aunts and uncles, lots of cousins and dear friends.

Funeral services and burial will be held privately. A memorial service for Jayne will be held at a later date.

CHARLOTTE A. (PATRIA) DRURY
March 26, 1920 ~ April 15, 2020 (age 100)

WINCHENDON – Charlotte A. (Patria) Drury, 100, formerly of 3 Winter Street and 547 Central Street, died peacefully Wednesday morning, April 15, 2020 in Alliance Health at Baldwinville.

She was born in Winchendon on March 26, 1920, daughter of the late Benjamin and Angie B. (White) Patria and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon. Charlotte graduated from Murdock High School with the Class of 1938.

Following her high school graduation, Charlotte was hired by Davenport Oil Company and worked there for about ten years. From there, she went to work for Bateman Oil Company as a secretary until her retirement in 1961. She was a former member of the Unitarian Universalist Society, where she sang in the choir and had been a member of its Standing Committee. She was past vice president and secretary of the Putnam Alliance. She and her husband enjoyed flea marketing and antiquing together.

Her husband of 30 years, Richard H. Drury, died in 1991. She leaves grandnieces and grandnephews. Two brothers, Maurice Patria and Mardis Patria, predeceased her.

Funeral services and burial in Riverside Cemetery will be private.

Brian K. Salter

BRIAN K. SALTER
June 22, 1966 ~ April 12, 2020 (age 53)

WINCHENDON – Brian K. Salter, 53, of 104 Gardner Road, died peacefully Sunday afternoon, April 12, 2020 in UMASS Memorial Hospital, Belmont Street Campus, Worcester, with his family at his side.

He was born in Winchendon on June 22, 1966, son of Kenneth V. Salter Jr and Margaret A. (Murphy) Salter and was raised by his aunt, Kathleen L. Murphy. He is pre-deceased by his mother and his aunt as well as his uncle John Murphy. Brian graduated with the Class of 1985 from Murdock High School, where he was starting quarterback of the football team and a member of the basketball team.

Brian worked in retail sales in the furniture business. He had worked many years at R. Smith Furniture Co and The Factory Coop, both in Gardner MA. Most recently, he worked as an independent sales representative for several Amish furniture builders from Indiana. He greatly enjoyed spending time at his home, playing golf with his brothers and friends, and watching television. Brian loved his cats and enjoyed traveling with his wife to St. Thomas, Hawaii and many other destinations over the years.

He leaves his loving wife of 21 years, Carolyn J. (Salo) Salter; two brothers, Kenneth A. Salter of Lebanon, NH and John C. Salter of Winchendon; two nieces, Lauren Hurley and Anna Salter; a nephew, Andrew Salter; a cousin Marjorie Proulx and a grand niece, Maeve Hurley.

A memorial service will be held at a future date. The day and time will be announced by Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.

Maura McCaffrey

MAURA McCAFFREY
September 10, 1969 ~ April 14, 2020 (age 50)

Maura C. McCaffrey, 50, passed away on April 14th after a long illness. To say Maura was an amazing woman is an understatement. She was born on September 10th, 1969 a daughter of the late James and Christine Walsh. Maura avidly pursued her education and graduated from St. Bernard’s High School, received a pharmacy degree from URI and an MBA in Healthcare administration from Anna Maria College. Maura also completed Executive Education programs at both the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and Babson College. She began her career as a CVS Pharmacist and later worked for Eli Lilly in sales. In 2002, Maura started her career at Health New England where she rose through the ranks to become President & CEO of the company and serve as a member of Baystate Health’s President’s Cabinet.

Maura volunteered and served on many boards some of which included: Chairwoman of the Western Mass Economic Development Council (EDC), Secretary of the Massachusetts Association of Health Plans (MAHP), executive committee member of Health Plan Alliance, Western New England University board of trustees and Country Bank for Savings. She was also a mentor in Babson’s Women’s Executive Leadership program and America’s Health Insurance Plans (AHIP). She was proud to be inducted into Bay Path University’s Women Business Leaders Hall of Fame in 2015.

Maura was not only a devout student and dedicated worker, but also a mentor and friend to many. Maura was extremely humble and kind, she liked to remind people to “Be Your Best Self”. She was widely respected and loved and will be deeply missed; especially by her husband and her sons of whom she was so proud. Maura leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Edwin of West Brookfield, her sons Patrick USMC Camp Pendleton, CA and Connor USMC Camp Lejeune, NC. She also leaves her mother Christine of Winchendon, her sister Colleen Fay and her husband Jim of Templeton, her brother John Walsh and his wife Barbara McManus of Rutland and her dear friend Jean Brodowski of Feeding Hills. Maura also leaves many Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins as well as many friends. Due to the timing of her passing, a memorial Mass and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Ryan S. Daigle

RYAN S. DAIGLE
March 6, 1985 ~ April 9, 2020 (age 35)

Ryan S Daigle 35 of Cooke Place Athol, died unexpectedly at Athol Memorial Hospital on Thursday April 9, 2020.

Born in Fitchburg, MA on March 6, 1985 he was the son of Debbie (Daigle) Robbins and Jonathan Robbins of Athol. Biological father David Gray and partner Debbie Tower of Westfield.

Ryan grew up in Athol and attended Athol Schools as well as Montachusett Regional Technical School in Fitchburg.

Ryan was an avid Fisherman and hunter and enjoyed the outdoors and wildlife.

Survivors include his wife, Laura Cordean-Daigle of Templeton; Son Colton Daigle-Dufault of Winchendon; daughter Paisley Rose Daigle, step daughter Lily Lancey and stepson Brad Scholfield of Templeton; a sister Melissa (Daigle) Allsobrooks and husband Patrick Allsobrooks of Templeton; Brother Dusten Daigle and Wife Brianna (Marston) Daigle of Richmond, NH; Grandfather Livain (Joe) Daigle of Gardner; stepsister Chelsea Robbins and stepbrother Seth Robbins from Bon-Aqua, TN. Also, several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Ryan was pre-deceased by his grandparents, Doris Gray, Jeannine Daigle, Joan Truehart and Clyde Robbins.

There are no calling hours or services at this time due to the pandemic.

A celebration of Ryan's life will be celebrated at a later date and time to be announced.

Gerald David Williams

GERALD "CHIP" DAVID WILLIAMS
March 22, 1943 ~ April 4, 2020 (age 77)

Ocala - Gerald “Chip” David Williams, 77, passed away peacefully with his loving family at his side on April 4, 2020 in Ocala, Florida. He was born on March 22, 1943 in Winchendon, Massachusetts. In 1961, he graduated from Murdock High School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army from 1966-68.

Prior to retiring in Ocala in 2012, Chip lived in south Florida where he had a 25-year career as a residential supervisor at a community-based facility for emotionally disturbed youth and later worked in the casino and gaming industry. Chip enjoyed spending time with friends and playing golf at the Miami Springs Country Club. In Ocala, he was a parishioner of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church and an active member of Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 1085. He enjoyed taking trips with his wife and spending time with his family in Miami and Chicago.

Chip is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Harriet M. Williams; son, Adelio J. Williams; daughter, Gretchen Williams Torres and her husband, Phillip; sister, Jane Bartlett Dellasanta; two grandchildren, Alessandra and Gabriel; aunt, Marion Montanari; and nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Hilda (Montanari) Bartlett and uncle, Adelio J. Montanari.

A funeral mass will be held at Blessed Trinity and burial at Good Shepherd Memorial Gardens. A memorial mass and celebration of Chip’s life will be scheduled at a later date.
