Andrea McCool

ANDREA K. McCOOL
March 14, 1964 ~ November 19, 2021 (Age 57)

PEPPERELL - Andrea K. McCool passed away suddenly on November 19th, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. Andrea was born March 14th, 1964, in Groton, MA a daughter of Walter & Roberta Fernandez.

She attended North Middlesex Regional High School in the graduating class of '82. Later in life, she completed her bachelor's degree at Mount Washington College in business administration. She lived in Nashua, NH before resettling in Pepperell, a place she called home for the majority of her life. She enjoyed time spent with family & friends, as well as baking, cooking, playing games, & making the holidays truly special. She was a cherished mother and beloved by many.

Andrea is survived by her parents Walter & Roberta Fernandez of Pepperell, MA; Her children Craig Fernandez of Pepperell, MA, Andy Fernandez of Pepperell, MA, Justin McCool, his wife Chelsea McCool of Nashua, NH, Amanda Connors, her husband Tim Connors of Nashua, NH, Ariana McCool of Townsend, MA, Zachary McCool of Pepperell, MA, Ashley McCool of Winchendon, MA, Robert McCool of Lowell, MA, Nicholas McCool of Littleton, MA; Her Siblings Kami Fernandez-Stoupis, her husband Nick Stoupis of Pepperell, MA, Sean Fernandez, his wife Lisa Fernandez of Hollis, NH, Vincent Fernandez, his wife Amy Fernandez of Pepperell, MA; As well as her grandchildren, Logan McCool, Landen Holman, Elyse Beaudette, Addyson Beaudette, Raegan Shaw, and newborn Lillian Connors. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and long-time friends.

Frances A. Dias

FRANCES A. DIAS
July 14, 1945 ~ November 28, 2021 (Age 76)

ROYALSTON - Frances A. (Tobin) Dias, 76, of 53 Bliss Hill Road, died peacefully Sunday morning, November 28, 2021 in Heywood Hospital Gardner.

She was born in Boston on July 14, 1945, daughter of the late George and Mildred (Fargrave) Tobin and grew up in Somerville. Frances had lived in Royalston for 14 years after living in Billerica and Rindge, NH.

Frances had worked for ten years at Mitre Corporation in Bedford, MA as a janitress and later cleaned houses in the local area. An avid bingo player, she also enjoyed going to Foxwoods as well as Salisbury Beach, Hampton Beach and Cape Cod.

Her husband of 54 years, Paul W. Dias, died in 2018. She leaves four sons, Brian Dias and his significant other, Paula Gonynor of Winchendon, William P. Dias of Mount Vernon, NH, Paul W. Dias Jr and wife Sandra of Shalimar, FL and Hank Holden and wife Krystal of Victor, NY; a half-brother Jack Wilson of Uxbridge; four grandchildren and several great grandchildren. A brother, John Wilson, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 3, 2021 at 10 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. Burial will be in Stewart Maple Cemetery, Royalston.

Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday, December 2, 2021 from 5 to 7 P.M.

EARL W. MCQUESTON JR
November 14, 1947 ~ November 20, 2021 (Age 74)

WINCHENDON - Earl W. "Rusty" McQueston Jr., 74, formerly of Winchendon died Saturday, November 20, 2021 in Eliot Health Care Center, Natick.

He was born in Winchendon on November 14, 1947, son of Earl W. McQueston Sr of Winchendon and the late Madeleine E. (Niall) McQueston.

Rusty worked for many years at New England Woodenware as a machine operator. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam Era as a member of the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He was an active member of Eugene M. Connor Post 193 American Legion, Frederick Wilder White Post 1068 VFW and the Winchendon Rod and Gun Club.

In addition to his father, he leaves two sons, Earl William McQueston 3rd and James McQueston and a brother, John E. McQueston of Winchendon.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 10 AM in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. A calling hour will precede the service Tuesday from 9 to 10 A.M.

Burial will be in Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.

Zena Merullo

ZENA MERULLO
November 24, 2021 (Age 91)

MERULLO, Zena (Scarpato) Of Reading, passed away on Wednesday, November 24th, 2021, at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Edward A. Merullo. Devoted mother of Edward J. Merullo and his wife Lynda of Marblehead, Karen Shiebler and her husband Paul of Winchendon, Elizabeth Lombardozzi and her late husband Edward of Malden, Mark Merullo and his wife Susan of Franklin, Mary and her husband Randy, and David Merullo and his wife Patience of Chelmsford. Loving daughter of the late Joseph and Rose (Silvestro) Scarpato. Cherished grandmother of Aaron and Natalie Merullo, Jenny Merullo and James Woodard, Tyler Merullo, Kate Shiebler and Sam Roberts, Matt Shiebler, Tim Shiebler and Jessica Sweeney, the late James Lombardozzi, Lisa and Michael Henry, Russ Merullo and Emily Hilly, Angela and Peter Lawrence, Erin and Jonathan Eberle, James Singleton, Atticus Adams, Cameron Merullo, Zena Leah Merullo and great-grandmother of six. Beloved sister of Joseph Scarpato and his wife Teresa of Marlboro, the late Roy Scarpato and his wife Anne Scarpato of Topsfield and the late Dr. Robert Scarpato and his wife Janet Scarpato of Osterville. She is also the loving aunt to many devoted nieces and nephews. Zena also leaves behind her devoted caretaker, Lynn Nsimiire, and her beloved cat Tessa.

Funeral from the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St. (corner of Park St. and Rte. 28),NORTH READING, at Reading line, on Tuesday, December 7th at 9:30am. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Athanasius Church, 300 Haverhill St., Reading at 10:30am. Interment will follow at Charles Lawn Memorial Park, Reading.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to Visiting Hours at the funeral home on Monday, December 6th, 2021 from 4 to 8pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations to the Reading Scholarship Foundation be made in Zena's name.

LAWRENCE E. KNIGHT SR
July 20, 1945 ~ November 27, 2021 (Age 76)

WINCHENDON - Lawrence E. Knight Sr., 76, of 14 East Street, died unexpectedly Saturday evening, November 27, 2021 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.

He was born in Fitchburg, MA on July 20, 1945, son of the late Sherman and Laura (Plante) Knight. Larry grew up in New Hampshire and had lived in Winchendon or over 50 years.

Larry was employed as a woodworker for several years at the former Temple Stuart Furniture Company and later worked at M.H. Parks Furniture Co. His last employment was working at Wal-Mart in Rindge, NH.

Larry was involved with Boy Scouts for most of his life. He served as Scoutmaster and later as Assistant Scoutmaster for Boy Scout Troop 193 of Winchendon for over 30 years.

He leaves his wife of 51 years, Caroline (Nolette) Knight; six children, Richard Baldwin of FL, Lawrence E. Knight Jr. of Winchendon, Billie Knight of Winchendon, Shane Knight of Gardner, Heidi Knight of Winchendon and Patrick Knight of Winchendon; grandchildren, Crysta, Kendyll, Brianna, Ryan, Tony, and Jon and nine more; five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 7 P.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.

Calling hours will precede the funeral Saturday from 5 to 7 P.M.

Lisa L. Goodwin

LISA L. GOODWIN
June 29, 1966 ~ November 23, 2021 (Age 55)

MARLBOROUGH, NH - Lisa L. Goodwin, 55, of Marlborough formerly of Rindge, died peacefully Tuesday evening, November 23, 2021 at the home of her parents, with her family at her side.

She was born in Keene, NH on June 29, 1966, daughter of John and Nancy (Hutchinson) Goodwin of Rindge. In addition to her parents, she leaves a son, Steven R. Goodwin and his significant other, Rachel Hodges of Winchendon, MA; two grandchildren, Orion and Aubrey Goodwin; two sisters, Tammy Luppino of Winchendon and Tracy Lawn of Jaffrey, NH, nieces and nephews. Lisa had lived in Marlborough since 2009.

Lisa had worked as a planner for Corning, Inc. for several years. She loved her dogs Oscar and Sadie and particularly enjoyed sitting in the sun, gardening and being in nature.

Funeral services and burial will be private.

Steven J. Grant

STEVEN J. GRANT
March 18, 1956 ~ November 29, 2021 (Age 65)

WINCHENDON - Steven J. Grant, 65, of 29 Hyde Street, died peacefully Monday morning, November 29, 2021 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.

He was born in St. Albans, Vermont on March 18, 1956, son of the late Clifton and Florence (Grant) Grant and spent his early years in Vermont. He later grew up in Fitchburg and lived in Winchendon for over 40 years.

Steve worked at L.S. Starrett Tool Company in Athol for 15 years as an electrostatic painter and had previously worked for many years at Star Cleaners in Fitchburg. He was a member of Winchendon Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed ice fishing and four wheeling in his earlier years. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.

His wife of 43 years, Bonnie L. (Todd) Grant, died in 2020. He leaves a son, Thomas J. Grant and his wife Lindsay of Winchendon; four grandchildren, Morgan Grant, Olivia Grant, Declan Montgomery and Allanah Montgomery and their father Eddie Montgomery; a brother Kenneth Grant and his wife Jane of Winchendon; three sisters, Sally Francis of Winchendon, Karen Powers and husband Steve of Baldwinville and Brenda Leary of Athol as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by their daughter, Jessica L. Montgomery, who died in 2014.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 12 Noon in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.

Calling hours will precede the service Saturday from 10 AM to Noon preceding the service.
