Joseph R. Fournier

JOSEPH R. "BOB" FOURNIER
December 21, 1933 ~ December 4, 2021 (Age 87)

Fitchburg - Joseph R. "Bob" Fournier, 87, of Fitchburg passed away peacefully on December 4, 2021 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home.

Bob was born in Fitchburg on December 21, 1933 a son of the late Joseph W. and Louise (Sarasin) Fournier. Both carpentry and mechanical repair skills ran in his family, and Bob was no exception. He spent his career as a mechanic and his passion was woodworking. He was a talented carpenter who crafted meticulous wooden cars, dollhouses, jewelry boxes and furniture for several generations of his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling to Maine with his wife in the summer.

He is survived by his four children, Debbie Lowe and husband Stephen of Ashburnham, Joseph R. Fournier, Jr. of Fitzwilliam, NH, Mark Fournier of Winchendon, and Rhonda Steffan and her husband Ken of Westminster; grandson Stephen Lowe Jr. and his wife Christine; four great grandchildren, Jacob Evans, Meghan Lowe, Alex Hardy, and Robert Lowe; two great great grandchildren, Levi and Charlotte Naro; several nieces and nephews.

Bob was predeceased by his wife of 62 years Nancy Y. (Girard) Fournier in 2018, as well as his siblings.

The funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, December 14 in Saint Joseph Church, 49 Woodland St., Fitchburg at 10:30am. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

Nancy E. Smith

NANCY E. SMITH
January 23, 1948 ~ December 4, 2021 (Age 73)

Nancy E. Smith, 73, of New Ipswich, NH, passed away peacefully after a long illness on December 4, 2021.

She was born on January 23, 1948, in Newton, MA to Coburn and the Late Sarah Ellingwood. She grew up in Wayland, MA. After school, Nancy became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She spent many years with Birchwood Rehab Clinic in Fitchburg, MA. She spent most of her nursing career caring for the elderly and she was really dedicated to those suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Nancy made a huge impact on her patients and their families. Her tremendous love for her family and her ability to always put others needs before her own will be greatly missed. She found great pride and much joy in her grandchildren. After retirement she found tremendous joy in spending her summers in Bailey Island, Me and her winters in North Myrtle Beach, SC. Wherever Nancy would go, she was sure to take her kind heart and sense of humor.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Ellingwood.

Nancy is survived by the love of her life for thirty-three years, Roger Toothaker, her father, Coburn Ellingwood, her sons; Brain Smith (Desire Wilson) of Gilbert, AZ, Barry (Jennifer) Smith of Westminster, MA, her stepsons; Jeff (Donna) Toothaker of Ashburnham, MA, Jason Toothaker (Teresa Graham) of Winchendon, MA, her brother, Coburn Ellingwood II (Pam), from Vergennes, VT, her grandchildren; Jackson, Brady, Keller, Delaney, Paige, Dylan, and Miranda, and her nephew Coburn III.

A celebration of life will be held in Bailey Island, ME on a later date at the convenience of the family.

Michael M. Worn

MICHAEL M. WORN
November 19, 1948 ~ December 15, 2021 (Age 73)

WINCHENDON - Michael M. Worn, 73, of Winchendon, died unexpectedly at home Wednesday morning, December 15, 2021.

He was born in Bainbridge, Georgia on November 19, 1948, son of the late Owen and Arvilla (Yeomens) Worn and grew up in Georgia and Florida. Mike lived in Greenville, NH at one time and lived in Winchendon for most of his life.

Mike worked at Digital Equipment and General Electric before working as a truck driver for many years until his retirement. He proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Intrepid and later served in the New Hampshire National Guard. His hobbies included bowling and hunting. He loved the outdoors and animals. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.

He leaves his wife of 51 years, Barbara L. (Finn) Worn; four children, Daniel Owen Worn of Winchendon, Tamatha Ann Worn of Winchendon, David Michael Worn of TN and Carl William Worn and wife Jessica of Williamstown, VT; four grandchildren, Dakota, Timmy, Michael and Little Ricky; his siblings, Gwendolyn Worn of GA, Regina Fletcher of NC, Anthony Worn of TX and Buford Worn of TN and many nieces and nephews. A sister, Virgie Worn, preceded him in death.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 2 P.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon.

A calling hour will precede the service Wednesday from 1 to 2 P.M.

James D. Conway

JAMES D. CONWAY
November 23, 1943 ~ December 10, 2021 (Age 78)

WINCHENDON - James D. Conway, 78, of Winchendon MA, died unexpectedly Friday evening, December 10, 2021 in Athol Hospital, surrounded by his family.

He was born in Hartford, CT on November 23, 1943, son of the late Thomas V. and Josephine (Sartori) Conway and grew up in Windsor Locks. Jim was a graduate of Albert I. Prince Regional Vocational Technical School in Hartford.

A printer by trade, Jim later worked in sales and eventually became an over the road truck driver. He drove for many years for Land Air Express in Manchester, NH. until retirement. Jim and his wife lived in Hudson, NH and Merrimack, NH for 34 years and then moved to Florida. They have resided in Winchendon MA for the last four years.

Jim was a member of the Model A Ford Clubs in Ft Myers, FL and Manchester, NH. He enjoyed boating, clamming and fishing. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and grandchildren.

He leaves his wife of 57 years, Mary A. (Urbanoski) Conway; four children, Denise M. Price and husband Mark of Winchendon, Carolyn Conway-Welch of Manchester, NH, Patrick Conway and wife Dana of Placentia, CA and Scott J. Conway and Andrea Prescott of Manchester, NH; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jacqueline Morgan and a brother, Thomas Conway Jr.

Calling hours in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon are Thursday, December 16, 2021 from 4 to 6 P.M.

A Mass of Christian Burial and burial will be private.

Robert F. Souther

ROBERT F. SOUTHER
December 15, 1928 ~ December 9, 2021 (Age 92)

Shirley - Robert F. Souther, 92, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021 after a brief illness.

He was the husband of the late Pauline M. (Provencher) Souther, who passed in 2014. He leaves two daughters, Roxanne Souther of Shirley and Sandra Souther of Arizona; two sons, Robert F. Souther, Jr of Leominster and Brian Souther of Shirley; one granddaughter, Marcy Silva of Winchendon; two great-grandchildren, Madison and Marcello Silva all of Winchendon; a brother, Richard Souther of Indiana; and his dearest friend, Bob Mack.

He was born in Leominster on December 15, 1928 a son of the late Albert and Caroline (Hembrow) Souther. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked for the Mead Paper Company for 22 years, and for Hellingworth and Vogue for 5 years as security. He was also in the Massachusetts National Guard 26th Infantry Division for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 429, the Eastwood Club, the South Fitchburg Hunting Club and the Leominster Sportsmen's Club.

Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and going to the casino. He was predeceased by six siblings, , Albert Souther Sr, Dean Souther, Russell Souther, John Souther, Frances Gibson and Rose Bangs.

A graveside service will be held Friday, December 17, 2021 at 3:00 pm, at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA 01475.

Anna J. Santini

ANNA J. SANTINI
February 19, 1922 ~ December 13, 2021 (Age 99)

WINCHENDON - Anna J. (Diotalevi) Santini, 99, of Winchendon, died peacefully Monday morning, December 13, 2021 in Gardner Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Gardner with her family at her side.

She was born in Winchendon on February 19, 1922, daughter of the late Adolph and Inis (Tameli) Diotalevi and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon.

Anna worked many years ago at the former Heywood Wakefield Furniture Company and at the former Travelers Restaurant. She was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, where she helped at many church bazaars and was a former CCD helper. A member of the Winchendon Golden Agers, she was a former cub scout den mother. Anna enjoyed swimming, cooking and ceramics.

Her husband of 58 years, Augusto J. "Gus" Santini, died in 2002. She leaves four children, William J. Santini of Winchendon, Carol A. Whitney and husband Carl of Pepperell, Laura M. Lawrence and husband Michael of Templeton and Mary Ann Biear and husband Mark of Oakton, VA and four grandchildren, Shannon Charland, Maxwell Biear, Harrison Biear and Jack Biear.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 10 A.M. in Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon.

There are no calling hours.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Robert M. Parmenter Jr

ROBERT M. PARMENTER JR
October 13, 1940 ~ December 14, 2021 (Age 81)

WINCHENDON - Robert M. Parmenter Jr., 81, of Winchendon, died peacefully Tuesday morning, December 14, 2021 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.

He was born in Washington, NH on October 13, 1940, son of the late Robert M. and Ruby (Pike) Parmenter and was a resident of Winchendon for most of his life.

Bob worked at New England Woodenware as a handler for many years until his retirement. His hobbies were fishing, riding his bicycle and working on cars. In his earlier years, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle.

He leaves a son, Jesse Parmenter of Worcester; a brother, Eugene W. Parmenter of Baldwinville; two sisters, Rosemary Blair and Ruth Arsenault of Winchendon; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Two children, Wanita Parmenter and Gino Parmenter and a brother Charles Parmenter, preceded him in death.

Calling hours in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 2 to 3 P.M. followed by funeral services at 3 P.M. Saturday.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
