KERNELL GEORGE RIES JR.
June 28, 1931 ~ June 9, 2022 (Age 90)

A memorial service for Kernell (George or K.G.) Ries Jr., will be held at the Ricker Funeral Home, 56 School St, Lebanon, NH 03766, on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at 11:00 am. The service will be followed at approximately 12:30 pm by a luncheon at Jesse's Steakhouse, 7 Blue Sky Drive, Hanover, NH 03755.

Earl Mcqueston Sr.

EARL W. McQUESTON SR.
January 5, 1922 ~ July 30, 2022 (Age 100)

WINCHENDON-- Earl W. McQueston SR, 100, of Winchendon, Ma., passed of natural causes on Saturday July 30, 2022, at the Alliance Health, Baldwinville, MA.

Earl was born on January 5, 1922 and lived in Winchendon. His parents were the late William M. McQueston and Mary E. McQueston of Winchendon, MA.

He was married for 54 years to the late Madeline E. (Niall) McQueston and predeceased by their son Earl W McQueston Jr. Earl survived his brother's Vernon (Ted) MacQueston, Clarence (Carol) McQueston, and his sister Marylin (McQueston) Rusin.

He leaves his son John (Skip) McQueston and his wife Ineabelle (Ini) McQueston His grandchildren: Earl McQueston III, James McQueston, Donna Dunn and husband Chris, Shawn Vaillancourt, and husband Richard, Yentl A. Burgos and Johary McQueston.

Seven greatgrandchildren: Brittany, Taylor and Kristen Dunn. Bailey, Denver, and Jewelianna Vaillancourt and Aspen T. McDermott and three great-great grandchildren; Jameson, Nora, and Brayden McAvoy He graduated from Mourdock High School in 1940.

While in high school Earl was in the football team, the baseball team, track team, hockey, printing club and Foreign Relations Club.

After high school, Earl joined the Army Air Force. He served in Brazil for more than 3 years with the base unit 152 Army Air Force. While in Brazil, Earl would send small articles to the Winchendon Carrier Editor, to be published and give a unique perspective on the Brazilian culture and its involvement in WWII.

After November 17, 1945, Earl separated from the military with Honorable Discharged He joined his wife on their new house and started working as a machinist for Goodspeed Machine Co. with the purpose of starting a family.

Earl became an important member of the community as a founding member of the Winchendon Rod and Gun Club. He was a proud member of the American Legion. Earl enjoyed hunting, fishing, and competing in dog raises with his two sons. He will always be missed with a smile.

Robert and Loretta Harper

ROBERT DANIEL HARPER SR.
LORETTA ANN (CHARLES) HARPER

Robert Daniel Harper, Sr. of Port Charlotte, FL passed away peacefully on June 4, 2022, at the age of 92, surrounded by his loved ones. Robert was predeceased by his beloved wife Loretta Ann (Charles) Harper who passed away peacefully on October 3, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Robert, often known as Bob, was born in Natick, MA, the second oldest of seven children. Loretta, often known as Lorrie, was born in Natick, MA, one of 12 children growing up in Holliston, MA.

Bob served in the United States Army as a Corporal from March 8, 1951 to February 2, 1953, transferring to the Army Reserves February 3, 1953 to February 28, 1957. Bob worked as a machinist in Holliston, MA for the Valpey Fisher Corporation, Valpey Crystals Corporation and later for Pegasus, inc. Bob was an avid antique enthusiast, both collecting and selling all kinds of antiquities, from furniture & tools to bottles & glassware. Bob enjoyed going to yard sales every weekend, as well as having his own barn sales at his Milford, MA home.

Lorrie worked as a switchboard operator for the phone company during high school and after graduating from Holliston High School in 1953. Bob & Lorrie were married on October 9, 1954, in Holliston, MA. They loved to country line dance together and were beautiful to watch. They taught line dance lessons at the clubhouse when they lived at Vizcaya Lakes in Port Charlotte, FL. Bob was a talented woodworker, making miniature bureaus for each of his children. Lorrie was a very talented, crafty, artistic woman who created many pieces over the years in a variety of textiles. Bob and Lorrie lived in Milford, MA for 33 years prior to moving to Port Charlotte, FL in 2012, but always considered themselves "Hollistonians" at heart, since Holliston, MA was their childhood town as well as where they raised their four children, before moving to Milford in 1980. Lorrie was a devoted wife who assisted her husband Bob with his antiques for many decades, and cared for him in her final years before making her transition. Family was very important to Bob and Lorrie and they enjoyed spending time with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

They are survived by their four children, Deborah (Harper) Smith and her husband, Steve of Millville, MA, Linda Harper and her wife, Karen Berger of Port Charlotte, FL, Robert Harper, Jr. and his wife, Cyndi of Louisberg, NC and Christine Harper and her partner, Shane of Winchendon, MA, beloved grandchildren Loretta (Koshivaki) Lamont, Shawn Smith, James Koshivaki, Robert Harper III, Elena Koshivaki, Jillian (Harper) Bartley, Sarah (Harper) Boelig, Lindsay Koshivaki and Taylor Harper, beloved great grandchildren Anthony Smith, Katherine Wheeler, Casey Wheeler, Eddie Bartley, Abigail Tosches, Mila Smith, Emily Bartley, Sylvia Lamont, Kylie Bradford Koshivaki, Aubrey Harper, Michael Koshivaki, Julia Koshivaki, Alexa (Denny) Koshivaki, James Koshivaki, Mercedes Harper, and Savannah Boelig. Bob is survived by his half-brothers Philip Harper & Jerry Harper. Lorrie is survived by her sisters Virginia (Charles) Martz, Cynthia (Charles) Grudak and Anita (Charles) Toubeau. Bob is predeceased by his father Lindsey Harper and mother Jessie (Godsoe) Cornish, brothers Charles Harper, William Harper, Joseph Harper, and half-brother Daniel Harper. Lorrie is predeceased by her father Harold Charles, mother Louise (Robicheau) Charles, brothers Harold Charles, Merwin Charles and Everett Charles, sisters Lillian Charles, Dorothy (Charles) Spalding, Beverly (Charles) Carpenter, Lois (Charles) Indelicato, and Joyce Charles. They are both predeceased by their beloved granddaughter Jesica (Smith) Tosches.

Family and friends are invited to a graveside service for both Bob and Lorrie at the Lake Grove Cemetery of Holliston, (use 1450 Highland St. on GPS) on August 13th at 11:00am followed by a reception at The Medway VFW, 123 Holliston St, Medway, MA 02053.

Nickolas Roy

NICKOLAS MICHAEL ROY
October 29, 1999 ~ July 31, 2022 (Age 22)

Nickolas Michael Roy, 22, of Milford, NH and formerly of Winchendon, MA died Sunday, July 31, 2022 after an automobile accident.

He leaves his mother and her husband, Jessica (Daniels Roy) and Cory Wilson of New Ipswich, NH; his father, Michael Roy and his fiancée Colleen Davis of Winchendon; two sisters, Sonja Torino and her partner, Kyle Willett of Winchendon and April Chamberland of Gardner; one brother, Trevor Raux of Gardner; two nephews, Caleb and Mason; his maternal grandmother and her husband Debra (Casey) and Peter Ovaska of New Ipswich; his maternal grandfather and his wife, John and Leona Daniels of Lake Worth, FL; along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Donald and Jeannine Roy.

Nickolas was born in Gardner on October 29, 1999. He was a 2018 graduate of Murdock High School in Winchendon. He worked for Erickson Foundation Supportworks in Hudson, NH. Nickolas was lovingly called Puck by his family, which was a random nickname given in his youth.

He enjoyed playing basketball, spending time with his friends and family, listening to music, 420, cheering on the Dolphins and New York Knicks, and watching SpongeBob SquarePants & Cat In The Hat. He was always the life of the party and loved to make people laugh. Nickolas had a huge heart and was a loyal friend. He loved his friends and family, and always made time for them.

A prayer service will be held on August 14, 2022 at 3:30pm in the Mack Family Funeral Home, 105 Central Street, Gardner, MA 01440.

Calling hours will be held from 2:00pm to 3:30pm prior to the funeral.

Please join the family at Carriage House at 660 Spring Street in Winchendon, MA 01475 for a Celebration of Life immediately following the prayer service.

Carl N. Lemere Sr.

CARL N. LEMERE SR.
March 11, 1948 ~ July 31, 2022 (Age 74)

Winchendon-Carl Nelson Lemere Sr., 74, died Sunday, July 31, 2022 at Heywood Hospital.

He leaves his wife, Joan (Ebbs) Lemere; eight children, Melissa Lindo of ME, Carla Johnson of Shirley, Carl N. Lemere, Jr. of Athol, Christopher Lemere of Athol, Micheal Lemere of Athol, Meghan Lemere of Athol, Jeff Cooper of Gardner and Carl Cooper of VT, 26 grandchildren; three step-children Joshua Benda of Winchendon, Robert Benda of Winchendon and Kathleen Benda of Webster; one brother Butch Lemere of NY, his former wife Penny Cooper of Athol; a longtime family friend, Rachel Finn of Gardner and several nieces and nephews.

Carl was born in Newport, VT on March 11, 1948 a son of the late Maynard and Bernice (Gilbert) Lemere. He graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1966. He worked as a Machinist and at the Fabric Place in Fitchburg as an upholster.

He enjoyed fishing, and truly loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Scott D. Laverdure

SCOTT D. LAVERDURE
March 27, 2000 ~ July 31, 2022 (Age 22)

WINCHENDON - Scott D. Laverdure, 22, of Winchendon, died Sunday, July 31, 2022 in Templeton, MA.

He was born in Springfield, MA on March 27, 2000 son of Scott D. Laverdure of Winchendon and the late Robin T. Quick-Laverdure. Scott was a 2018 graduate of Murdock High School, where he played on its baseball, football and basketball teams. Scott also enjoyed playing lacrosse.

Scott grew up in Springfield and spent his high school years in Winchendon. Following his high school graduation, Scott joined the United States Marine Corps. Scott was an avid basketball and hockey fan. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his three nieces, Ava Dowd, Natalia Almonte and Levi Hogan and his nephew, Enzo Almonte.

In addition to his father Scott D. Laverdure and stepmother Jennifer Laverdure, he leaves three sisters, Samantha Hogan of Springfield, Montanna Laverdure of FL and Joslynn Laverdure of Winchendon; one brother, Cameron Hogan; his aunt; Andrea Hogan of Springfield; his fiancée; Patricia Rivera of Hemet, CA; his grandparents, Michael Laverdure of ME and Susan Bratica of Milford, MA; four cousins Giana Quick, Thomas Quick Jr., Juliette Sullivan and Evan Laverdure and several other aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by grandparents, Donna "Noni" Quick and Albert Bratica Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, August 5, 2022 at 11:30 A.M. in St. Mary's Church, 30 Bartlett Street, Westfield.

Burial, with Military Honors, will be in Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam.
