Eileen M. Bosworth

EILEEN M. BOSWORTH
August 7, 1931 ~ October 21, 2022 (Age 91)

Athol, MA - Eileen M. (Mallette) Bosworth, 91, of New Sherborn Road in Athol, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, October 21, 2022, at Hartford Hospital where she had been taken following a brief illness.

Eileen was born August 7, 1931 in Athol, Massachusetts, the daughter of Herbert Henry Mallette and Marion (Hachey) Mallette. She lived in Athol all of her life and attended Athol schools.

On December 30, 1950, Eileen was married to her sweetheart Richard W. Bosworth, (Dick) and they resided in Athol all 63 years of their marriage, together raising their six children.

Eileen worked for J. F. McElwain Shoe Company, Ray's Plastics in Winchendon, The Athol Sewing Factory, N. D. Cass Company, and until her retirement, she worked 23 years for the L. S. Starrett Company. She also partnered with her husband for 35 years in Dick's Bike Shop, where the couple were well-known for their dedication to helping their customers find "wheel happiness."

A devout Christian and trusting follower of Jesus Christ, Eileen was known for her generosity and desire to help others, her quick sense of humor and infectious laughter, her humble disposition, her loyal affection and dedication to her family, and her deep faith and integrity. She was an excellent cook, a skilled seamstress and crochet expert who made clothing for her children, and one of her greatest joys was creating and tending her magnificent flower gardens on New Sherborn Road. Many times people would drive by to see the beauty she had crafted with her flowers. Eileen and Dick made special homemade Hires Root Beer for their children, who eagerly awaited each new batch. Gifted in artistic endeavors, Eileen shared a love of art and creating with each of her children, encouraging artistic gifts in each of them that have developed and lasted all of their lives.

She and Dick enjoyed vacationing together in Boothbay Harbor, Maine for 26 years.

Always staying at Ship Ahoy Motel, they established many longtime friendships. Though her extended family was large, Eileen always remembered each member with cards, letters and gifts, and she also corresponded routinely from childhood with a pen pal she finally met in person on a trip to Prince Edward Island. Eileen found great joy in reading, faithfully read her Bible and prayed for others, loved spending time with family members, and she was devoted to Moore's Corner Church of Leverett, and her many friends there.

Eileen is survived by her six children: Scott Bosworth (Kathy) of Sheridan Wyoming, Mark Bosworth (Wendy) of Athol, Kurt Bosworth of Antrim, New Hampshire, Lisa Wood of Athol, Chris Held (John) of Athol, Kelly Bunker of Athol, and 15 grandchildren: Jennifer Brailey, Bethany, Devan and Emily Bosworth, Heidi Morris, Rosalie Carney, Nathaniel and Gaelan Bosworth, Marie and Alan Wickland, Aaron, Levi and Isaac Held, Larry and Jamie Bunker, and eleven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Richard in 2014, parents Herbert and Marion, siblings Alvin, Eugene, Beverly, Valerie and Richard, daughter-in-law Heather Bosworth, and granddaughter Jillian Bosworth.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday Nov. 5th at 11:00AM at the Moorse Corner Church, Church Hill Rd. in Leverett MA with Pastor Mike Grant officiating.

A time of refreshment and fellowship will follow downstairs after the service.

Jacqueline Wheaton Williams

JACQUELINE WHEATON "JACKIE" WILLIAMS
October 8, 2022 (Age 91)

Jacqueline Wheaton "Jackie" (Glasson) Williams On Saturday October 8, 2022, Jacqueline G. Williams, 91, of Marlborough, NH died peacefully at the Jack Byrne Palliative & Hospice Care Center in Lebanon, NH with loving family at her side.

Born Jacqueline Wheaton Glasson, to parents Alice (Hayward) and Phillip Glasson, "Jackie" was raised in Berlin, NH. In her early years she learned how to cook, ski and snowshoe; she swam with her parents and sister Dorothy at Moose Brook, and she excelled in school. In the summers Jackie and her sister would ride the train together to visit their grandparents in Proctor, VT. Jackie studied music and other forms of artistic expression. She played French Horn in the school band and taught herself to sew. By the time she entered Rhode Island School of Design in Providence in 1949, she was designing and sewing most of her own clothing. In November of 1951 she married Allan Hayes Williams, of Marlborough, NH, whom she had met several years earlier at a church camp on Lake Winnepesaukee. After various moves due to Allan's military service, they made their home in Marlborough where they lived together for the next 68 years and raised their family.

Preceded in death by her parents, her beloved sister Dorothy Spencer O'Connor, and her devoted husband Allan, Jackie leaves behind her 3 children - Kimberly, Jennifer and Christopher - along with their spouses and loved ones, as well as 5 grandchildren (Chris, Owen, Leslie, Lucas and Kylie) and 3 great grandchildren (Logan, Quinn and Majeed).

Once Jackie's children were all in school, she returned to pursuing her own education, earning both Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Keene State College. Jackie then taught Home Economics for the Winchendon, MA public school system for 14 years. In retirement, Jackie obtained a job with an optometrist in Jaffrey and worked another 3 years learning how to grind lenses and fit contact lenses. She excelled at customer service and meeting peoples' needs.

Jackie made her artistic mark on the Marlborough community by participating in "behind the scenes" activities of many Heart Fund Shows and other theatrical performances and community events. Whenever there was scenery to paint or backdrops to create, Jackie was right there lending a hand. She was also an active member of the Federated Church of Marlborough, joining the Ladies United Evening Group, and participating in many aspects of church life such as hosting coffee hour, working at the annual holiday bazaar, and helping with the ministerial search committee when necessary. Another community group Jackie belonged to was the Historical Society of Marlborough. She enjoyed archiving photographs and helping to organize the festivities for Marlborough's Bicentennial celebration.

In her spare time Jackie relished square dancing with Allan, hiking with friends, attending forums and lectures on current social causes, sewing clothing and dolls for her grandchildren, attending all of Allan's Keene Legion Band performances and parades, traveling for Allan's Barnstormer's men's choral group performances, and reading a good book. She also loved cats! Jackie's and Allan's home was never without at least one or two cats.

Through Jackie's strengths and passions, some of the lessons we children learned include reading for pleasure, accepting and respecting people of other cultures, appreciating outdoor activities, and believing in ourselves and our ability to reach our goals. Though she was a quiet woman, there was never any doubt of her unwavering love and devotion for each of us.

Jackie's last 2 years were spent in the Memory Care Unit at Langdon Place of Keene, NH where she lived peacefully with her cat Lola, and, during the pandemic, learned how to participate in a weekly Zoom call with her children. Her smiling face during these calls is one of the happy ways we will remember her.

Funeral services will be planned for the Spring of 2023 through the Federated Church of Marlborough.
