Thursday 1/19: Sliced roast turkey with herb gravy, stuffing, butternut squash, wheat dinner roll, fruit cup.
Friday 1/20: Baked salmon with dill sauce, wild rice pilaf, cauliflower au gratin, multigrain bread, fudge round cookie or Lorna Doones.

The Winchendon Senior Center vans are available to Winchendon residents 55 years old and older, for local transportation to shopping, social events, medical appointments, and similar activities, with priority given to medical appointments. The van is available for longer distance medical runs to Worcester and surrounding towns. Please call the Senior Center at least 24 hours in advance to reserve the van.

The Senior Center is open Monday – Thursday, 8:30am to 2:30pm, and Friday, 9:00am to 1:00pm.

Theatre at the Mount Offers School Vacation Musical Theatre Workshop

Register now for Theatre at the Mount's Vacation Musical Theatre Workshop, for Grades 4 through 8, to be held February 20, 21, 22, 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (enrollment limited to 36).

Get your child out of the house and onto the stage this February school vacation week! At the Theatre at the Mount theatre workshop, students will step into the spotlight performing scenes, singing songs and dancing choreographed numbers. Under the direction of experienced theatre staff, students will polish their performance skills, gain self-confidence, and have tons of fun!

On the last day, students return in the evening to perform for family and friends!

Open Auditions for "Disney's NEWSIES, JR" at Theatre at the Mount

Mount Wachusett Community College's Theatre at the Mount, Gardner, Massachusetts announces auditions for Disney's NEWSIES, JR. Based on the real-life Newsboy Strike of 1899, Newsies Jr. tells the story of Jack Kelly, a rebellious newsboy who dreams of a life as an artist away from the big city. After publishing giant Joseph Pulitzer raises newspaper prices at the newsboys' expense, Kelly and his fellow newsies take action. With help from the beautiful female reporter Katherine Plumber, all of New York City soon recognizes the power of "the little man." Seize the day!

HEAL Winchendon Offering Financial Coaching Workshops

HEAL Winchendon, in conjunction with the Winchendon CAC, is offering a free financial coaching program to any residents who are interested. The program runs for eight weeks with a flexible schedule and is available in both English and Spanish. Tickets on Sale for "Man of La Mancha" at Theatre at the Mount

The space is being repurposed for the provision of basic library services while building upgrades are undertaken. The Book Sale will return when the project is complete. Full-Time Resident Services Coordinator
Administrative Assistant Position

The Winchendon Housing Authority is seeking to hire a Full-time Resident Services Coordinator/Administrative Assistant. This is a 40 hr./week position responsible to meet with elderly-disabled and family residents of both federal and state subsidized housing units to discuss needs of each resident and to improve their lives while living at the WHA. This administrative position will include managing all WHA work orders generated in our PHA-Web software system.

Required qualifications are solid understanding of Microsoft Windows 10, Microsoft Office 365 with strong ability using Microsoft Access database software and Internet systems. Applicant must have attained at least a High School Diploma or equivalent schooling and to have strong experience in public relations with both elderly and family clientele. The RSC will also plan, coordinate, evaluate programs and provide detailed monthly/annual reports to WHA Director and DHCD on services provided/created for residents. This position will work closely with WHA maintenance team to coordinate daily, weekly and monthly work order issuance and completion.

Preferred qualifications are o have some working knowledge of state and federal regulations that apply to low rent public housing, social security administration requirements and Healthcare services. Some level of training in low-rent public housing administration. Experience in AASC resident management software and PHA-WEB housing management software. and bilingual ability in Spanish is preferred.

In addition to the above duties, the successful applicant in this position must demonstrate experience initiating and sustaining a high level of accountability resulting in positive outcomes for residents, is mission-focused and demonstrates previous experience successfully collaborating with all levels of staff, volunteers and community organizations. Must be self-motivated driven to succeed in all task/goals assigned or developed.

SALARY RANGE: $42K to $48K, commensurate with experience. This position is partially funded with a 3-Year Grant from DHCD (Department of Housing and Community Development) with the possibility of an extension of the program if state budget allows.

PRE-OFFER PROCESS:
A CORI/SORI background check will be completed as well as a complete physical and drug screening on the prospective candidate.

Maintenance Mechanic/Carpenter Position

The Winchendon Housing Authority is accepting resumes for one (1) Maintenance Mechanic/Carpenter Position. Any person applying must be a self-motivator with the ability to work with and for a diverse population. Must possess a Massachusetts General Contractor's Supervisor license unrestricted. This position requires a highly diversified person with knowledge of but not limited to every phase of building construction, Kitchen/Bathroom remodeling, Facility-Property Maintenance, Basic plumbing, oil/propane and electric/ASHP heating systems, Basic electrical knowledge, and exterior/interior painting. Minimum landscaping skills must be of lawn planting and care, shrub planting and trimming, tree pruning and snow removal with both truck or tractor powered equipment and hand powered tools. This position requires an Active Massachusetts Drivers License with no more than a step 10 driving record. This person must be able to lift and move appliances or other items over 75 lbs repeatedly over a long duration. The Maintenance Mechanic/Carpenter will need to be on call for afterhours/weekend emergencies as required. Required qualifications are solid understanding of Massachusetts/International Building Code. Complete understanding of Facility and Property Maintenance. Preferred understanding of Microsoft Windows 10 operating system with Microsoft Office 365 software package, Internet systems.

Finalist must be able to pass a CORI/SORI review and Physical Fitness/Complete Drug Screening exam before hire. This is an hourly position working 40 hours per week. DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT

The Director of Development performs a variety of administrative and technical work. Administers day-to-day and long-range land use and community planning effmis. Implements planning strategies identified in adopted plans. Assists Town boards, commissions, including the Winchendon Redevelopment Authority, as needed and/or directed. Manages and executes projects related to master planning, land use, downtown revitalization, zoning, parking/traffic/transpmiation/economic development, affordable housing, energy, cannabis permitting, and as assigned by the Town Manager. Majority of work is performed under typical conditions. Some outdoor work is required for inspection of various land use developments and construction sites, and involves exposure to all weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, and occasionally to fumes and/or airborne particles. Noise level in the office is usually quiet and in the field usually moderate. Manages staff of three. Serves as direct repmi for Conservation Agent, Planning & Development Coordinator, and Planning Land Use Clerk. Bachelor's degree in land-use planning, urban planning, landscape architecture, or a closely related field, with a Master's degree prefened. Three (3) years, or more, of progressively responsible experience in municipal planning. Any equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience, with additional work experience substituting for the required education on a year-for-year basis, deemed appropriate by the Town Manager. Stariing pay for this 40 hour/week position ranges from $31.37 to $40.15/Hr. depending on qualifications. TOWN ACCOUNTANT

The Town of Winchendon is offering a HYBRID WORK SCHEDULE for the position of Town Accountant. With a population of 10,364 and a budget of $32.5 million the town is seeking a highly qualified individual to join its management team in the role of Town Accountant. The position manages the development and execution of the accounting operations of the town. Professional accounting and auditing work related to the maintenance of the Town's financial records and the expenditure of Town funds in compliance with Mass. General Laws and the Town's Charter. This position involves considerable interaction with department heads and staff, including the School Department. The position establishes policies and procedures to ensure fiscal accountability for all departments, reconciliation of town financial records, assistance with budgeting and capital planning, and preparation of various reports. Supervises the Assistant Town Accountant.
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field; five to seven years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, of which at least three years are in municipal accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; knowledge of Massachusetts municipal government procedures, general laws, and procurement; MUNIS financial software and possession or ability to obtain certifications as a Massachusetts Certified Governmental Accountant or Certified Public Accountant. Some knowledge of Massachusetts procurement preferred.
This is a benefited, non-union 40 hour week HYBRID position with twenty hours in office at Town Hall and twenty hours remotely, Monday through Thursday, with some flexibility.
