Timothy Sparks

TIMOTHY M. SPARKS
July 14, 1970 ~ June 15, 2023 (Age 53)

Timothy M. Sparks, 53, of Winchendon, died Thursday, June 15, 2023.

He was born in Fitchburg on July 14, 1970 and was a 1988 graduate of St. Bernard’s High School. He later attended Ft. Lauderdale University. Tim was a resident of Winchendon for the last 21 years.

Tim worked as a pipefitter for Decco Inc. of Hudson, NH for ten years. An avid fan of the Boston Bruins, he enjoyed skiing and golfing. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.

He leaves his wife of 24 years and loving companion of 31 Suzanne (Boucher) Sparks; three children, Cameron J. Sparks, Hannah E. Sparks and Olivia F. Sparks, all of Winchendon; his mother, Cynthia (Morin) Sparks of Gardner; his father, James Sparks of Manchester, NH; three brothers, Jason J. Sparks of Gardner, Jeremy M. Sparks of Kalispell, Montana, Michael J. Sparks and his wife Kristin Sparks of Fitchburg; one sister, Ashley E. Sparks of Fitchburg and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon are Wednesday, June 21, 2023 from 4 to 7 P.M.

Patricia C. Richards

PATRICIA C. (HETU) "BAILEY" RICHARDS
October 13, 1938 ~ June 7, 2023 (Age 84)

Winchendon - Patricia C. (Hetu) "Bailey" Richards, 84, died June 7, 2023, at St. Vincent Hospital after an illness.

She was the wife of the late, Robert Bailey and the late, James Richards.

She leaves two granddaughters, Jennifer Dixon and Renee Bailey, both of New Hampshire; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Evelyn Brezniak of Cherry Valley, and Gloria Brisben of Elwood, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by two sons, Mark Bailey, and Scott Bailey.

Patricia was born on October 13, 1938, in Winchendon, a daughter of the late, Leon and Thelma (Flagg) Hetu. She was a 1956 graduate of Murdock High School. She worked as a teacher's aide, working with Special Needs Children, for the Winchendon School System.

Patricia enjoyed gardening, knitting, and playing the piano. She was a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. She was also a member of the Gardening Club and had a huge Teddy Bear collection.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 52 Spruce Street, Winchendon, MA, 01475.

Her burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Glenallen Street, Winchendon, MA 01475.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, from 4:30 -6:30 p.m. in the Stone Ladeau, 343 Central Street, Winchendon, MA 01475.

Sharon Harvey

SHARON MAY HARVEY
June 1, 2023 (Age 74)

Sharon May (Paul) Harvey, age 74, formerly of Winchendon, Massachusetts passed away on June 1, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was a 1967 graduate of Gardner High School and received her associate degree in human services at Mount Wachusett Community College. She was a thirty-year employee of the Seven Hills Foundation where she worked as a case manager before her retirement. She had served as a member of the Winchendon School Committee when her children were young and was an active family member in the Gardner VFW for many years. She was known for her part in assisting to organize Christmas parties for returning soldiers and their families. As a young woman with two small children, she too endured the separation from her beloved due to war, so she understood firsthand the need for support and what a difference a meaningful holiday celebration could make for them.

Sharon had a passion for travel. She was always packed up and ready to leave on an adventure with her husband at a moment's notice. She was a collector of artifacts found along the way and could convey a special memory for each piece acquired, no matter how many years had passed.

Sharon was most well known for being a beloved wife, mother, and Meme. She will be most missed for her mischief and loving nature, great sense of humor, and big smile. Her laugh was infectious and could be heard most often when she was spending time with her grandchildren.

She was predeceased in death by her parents, Leo and Jeannette Paul, and a brother Ronald Paul. She is survived by the love of her life for the past 54 years, Paul Harvey Jr. Her daughter Shannon Stickney and her husband Henry. Son Paul Harvey III and his wife Melissa. Grandchildren Travis Stickney and his partner Guille. Kyla Kenney and her husband Michael. Thora Allen and her husband Marcus. Grandsons Paul Harvey IV and Cameron Albert. Her great grandchildren Avery, Thatcher, Frankie, and Jude. Her sister Judy Whitaker and her husband Cal, her brother Bruce Paul and his wife Neva, her sister Sally Paul, and her baby sister Tammy Gough and her husband Kevin. Numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, friends, as well as the River Ridge Community with whom she developed such deep ties.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the River Ridge Chapel in Bracey, Virginia on June 17, 2023 at 1p.m.. Her final resting place will be at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon, MA 01475, where her funeral services will occur on June 30th at 10 a.m.. The family would like to express our gratitude for the wonderful care given to her by the VCU Oncology and Radiology department, the Richmond VCU ICU team, and the many amazing people who supported her throughout this last year. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.

AMY L. FARNSWORTH
July 18, 1969 ~ June 9, 2023 (Age 53)

WINCHENDON - Amy L. Farnsworth, 53, of Winchendon, died unexpectedly at home Friday, June 9, 2023.

She was born in Gardner on July 18, 1969, daughter of the late Charles D. “Dave” and Candace (Piper) Couture and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon. Amy was a graduate of Murdock High School.

Amy had worked as a store manager for Nouria Energy in its Gardner and Winchendon locations. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening and following The Grateful Dead. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with family and friends.

She leaves a brother, David Couture of Winchendon; one niece, Monica Couture; two grand nephews, Ryker Couture and Grayson Bergstrom and a grand niece, Arya Bergstrom.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.

STACIE L. (HUGHES) BERGERON
July 12, 1966 ~ June 7, 2023 (Age 56)

Winchendon - Stacie L. (Hughes) Bergeron, 56, died Wednesday, June 7, 2023, after a battle with MS.

She leaves her husband Robert K. Bergeron; her parents, Albert "Roy" and Gloria (Cowling) Hughes of Westminster; two brothers, Scott Hughes and his fiancée, Maggie Corini of Westerly, RI, and Mitchell Hughes and his wife, Andrea, of Barre; nieces and nephews, Zachary Hughes and his wife, Elizabeth, Nicholas Hughes and his wife, Laura, Connor Hughes, Carter Hughes, Abby Hughes, and Stepdauhter Cassie Bergeron; and one cousin, Diane Vanbencoten and her husband, Joseph.

She is predeceased by a brother Marty Hughes who died in 2016.

Stacie was born on July 12, 1966, in Elmira, New York. She was a graduate of Oakmont Regional High School. She worked for Simplex and Tyco in the call Center for 23 years.

She enjoyed going to York Beach, ME; Marilyn Monroe, and especially loved cats. She was a huge Boston Bruins fan and enjoyed knitting and her flower gardens.

Her funeral services and burial will be private.

WINCHENDON - Acadia Ivy-Mae Taft, infant daughter of Justin Taft and Savannah Smith, died June 9, 2023 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.

In addition to her parents, she leaves a brother, Todd Matthew Laprise of Winchendon; two sisters, Daenerys Eva Marie Morin of Winchendon and Valaria Ava Lynn Taft of Winchendon; paternal grandparents Kelly and Steven Taft of Baldwinville; maternal grandparents, Sue Adams of Gardner, Jason Deneault of Winchendon and David Smith Jr. and Angela Smith of Jaffrey, NH; maternal great grandparents, Sue and Jeffrey "Puppup" Bennett of Winchendon and Draxine Whipple and Frank Whipple of Fitzwilliam, NH and David Smith Sr and Laurie Smith of Manchester, NH; maternal great great grandmother, Janet Pervier of East Templeton and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Acadia is predeceased by her uncle, Todd Paul Adams, with whom she will be laid to rest.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 1:30 PM in Riverside Cemetery, Winchendon for immediate family. A private gathering will follow in Winchendon.

KATHLEEN "KATHY" (MAKI) O'BRIEN
June 19, 2023 (Age 56)

ASHBURNHAM - Kathleen "Kathy" (Maki) O'Brien, 66, of Ashburnham, died suddenly Monday, June 19, 2023 at UMASS Memorial Hospital, Worcester from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

A lifelong resident of Ashburnham, Kathy graduated from Oakmont Regional High School, Class of 1974.

Kathy was a loyal, treasured employee of Gardner Savings bank, IC Federal Credit Union, Roy Brothers Oil, retiring last year from Wyson Trucking.

A beautiful soul, kind and generous to a fault, she touched and brightened the world of everyone she knew. She loved the beach, mystery novels, and all things Harley Davidson. She was a loving mother, aunt, sister and friend. It wasn't uncommon to find a little something left behind, a small token of her love and encouragement. Known for her marathon cooking to provide hot and delicious food at the Hawg Hawlers frequent events, or for family parties, needy friends or for someone she thought it would help, she did this all without being asked, and wouldn't take No for an answer. Credit? She wouldn't hear of it.

Kathy is survived by her loving son, Shawn Janssens of Ashburnham; sister Laura (Lystila) Blanchard and husband Pete of Fitchburg; her brothers, John Maki and wife Debbie of Portsmouth, NH and Matthew Sullivan and wife Kate of Upatol, GA; doting aunt to her nieces Jessica Blanchard of Westminster, Tessa Maki of Portsmouth, NH and Kristin (Maki) Fritz and husband Brian of Stratham, NH and Kendall Sullivan of Oxford, CT; stepsister Lisa Blanchard and husband Thomas of Ashby, MA.

Kathy was predeceased by her beloved husband James O'Brien, mother Beverly (Waid) Sullivan; father Richard Maki and treasured stepfather Francis "Greg" O'Sullivan and stepsister, Linda Lee Williams.

The friends, she left behind are too numerous to list in its entirety by Kathy would insist on recognizing longtime friends, Sue Lahtinen of Ashburnham and Junior and Pauline Lashua of Ashburnham. Her life was filled with love from her family; those who called her "Mama": Eric and Jenn Casey of Phillipston, Jake Strait of Gardner, Brenda and Ratt Rushford of Winchendon and Bob Marsh and Deb Lawn of Hubbardston.
