Kenneth Joseph Banas

KENNETH JOSEPH BANAS
March 16, 1942 ~ August 26, 2023 (Age 81)

Kenneth Joseph Banas, known as Ken, passed away peacefully on August 26, 2023, at the age of 81. Born on March 16, 1942, in Adams, Massachusetts, Ken lived most of his years in Templeton, Massachusetts, however in late 2022 he was admitted to the Applewood Home for Elders in Athol. Ken previously lived in Adams and Cheshire.

Ken was a supportive and loyal individual, known for his unique sense of humor. He was a senior draftsman, working with GE in both Pittsfield and Fitchburg, Massachusetts, within the steam turbine industry until his retirement in 1997. Ken's dedication also extended to his role as a Union steward. In his free time, Ken enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including walking his dog(s), fishing, and hunting. He also had a great passion for muscle cars.

Kenneth was the husband of the late Dianne Banas, with whom he shared a marriage of 50 years. He is survived by his sons, Stephen and Michael, his daughters-in-law, Jill and Kathy, his cherished granddaughters, Stephanie and Sarah, great grandson Oliver and his nephew, Jason Fourier. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Banas, his mother, Stella Banas, his dear wife, Dianne Banas, and his sister, Beverly Fourier.

A graveside service will be held in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Bridge Street, Templeton, MA on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. A celebration of life will follow at the home of his son, Michael Banas with friends and family.
