Ron Howard's Carlos Santana Documentary Has Global Premiere That Includes Jaffrey Theater

The unique film event at The Park Theatre welcomes The Peak Radio as sponsor

JAFFREY, New Hampshire (September 19, 2023) The Park Theatre's exclusive area presentation of the new documentary CARLOS: The Santana Journey Global Premiere has signed on The Peak Radio (101.9 & 100.7 FM) of Keene as official sponsor. The film will be shown at the Jaffrey, New Hampshire performing arts center on September 23, 24, and 27.

Celebrate the life of one of music's greatest icons in this special premiere event. See the new movie CARLOS first, including intro content featuring director Rudy Valdez and Carlos Santana, exclusive to this premiere event. The film is produced by Ron Howard and his production company Imagine Entertainment.

At the age of 5, in his native Mexico, he learned to play the violin. At 8, he developed a lifelong love for the guitar. At 14, he honed those guitar virtuoso skills and his performance style by working as a street musician, starting his own band long after while still a teenager. And at 22 - just before his first album was released to acclaim - Carlos Santana became one of the major discoveries of Woodstock, anchoring the famous festival's second afternoon on August 16, 1969.

A music industry legend for 50 years and a 10-time Grammy-winning global sensation, Santana continues to be one of the music world's premiere artists, blending jazz, blues, and the Mariachi sound with a rock n' roll spirituality and a sense of connection to music's primal connection to our deepest emotions.

The electric documentary CARLOS utilizes new interviews with Santana and his family alongside extraordinary, never-before-seen archival footage - including home video recordings Santana himself made, concert footage, and behind-the-scenes moments - as two-time Emmy-winning director Rudy Valdez creates an intimate, rich documentary about a man whose sound casts a spell on fans who love - as one of Santana's famous titles says— "how his rhythm goes."

"We are so proud to bring this new documentary about one of rock music's legends to New Hampshire, Vermont and north central Massachusetts. We are delighted to have The Peak Radio sponsoring the premiere screenings. They will help us get the word out about this important new film. This is one of those must-see movies. It will look and sound great in our Eppes Auditorium," said Park Theatre CEO and Managing Director, Steve Jackson.

There will be five screenings of CARLOS:
Saturday, September 23 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
Sunday, September 24 at 4:00 p.m.
Wednesday, September 27 at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

The film will be shown in the critically acclaimed 333-seat Eppes Auditorium at The Park with a giant screen and 17-speaker surround sound.

Good seats still available for this critically acclaimed one-man show that arrives at Jaffrey theater this Friday, September 22

JAFFREY, New Hampshire (September 19, 2023) The New York Daily News called Roger Kabler's performance as Robin Williams "Astonishing." ROBIN: The Ultimate Robin Williams Tribute Experience will be performed for one night only at The Park Theatre performing arts center in Jaffrey, New Hampshire this Friday, September 22 at 7:30pm. The theatre announced today that good seats are still available for this extraordinary performance that was sold out to cheering audiences on Martha's Vineyard last month.

This hysterical and emotional show is performed by Comic/Actor Roger Kabler, who appeared on CBS' The Carol Burnett Show and in the lead role of Bobby Soul in the short-lived NBC sitcom Rhythm & Blues.

Orlando Weekly said, "Kabler does a remarkable job recreating Williams' hysterical one-liners and irrepressible vocal explosions!"

Mr. Kabler will perform his one-man show in The Park Theatre's 333-seat Eppes Auditorium. Tickets for ROBIN: The Ultimate Robin Williams Tribute Experience are $25. All seats are reserved. The show is for ages 18+ with its mature material.

Coming Up at Nova Arts in Keene

KEENE, NH - Nova Arts is eager to welcome the exuberant musicianship of The Gaslight Tinkers and Billy Wylder! Come experience this afterparty to celebrate Radically Rural on Thursday, September 28, at 7 p.m. at 48 Emerald St. in Keene, NH.

Nova Arts is putting on an afterparty to celebrate Radically Rural, a two-day innovation summit for thinkers and doers from all over the country. What better way to connect with the community than with The Gaslight Tinkers' blend of global rhythms. African, Caribbean, Funk, Reggae, and Latin grooves meet traditional fiddle music and creates a joyously danceable sound around a core of traditional New England old time and Celtic fiddle music.

Since its formation in 2012 the band has lit up the East Coast, the West Coast, and the Caribbean, headlining clubs, dances, and major festivals. Playing what The Valley Advocate describes as "Music that consistently fizzes and pops with unexpected textures and turns." The Gaslight Tinkers sound merges boundless positive energy with melody and song, leading to delightful surprises and elated crowds while performing.

The band Billy Wylder features Avi Salloway (Bombino/Hey Mama) joined by an inspired cast of singular artists who have performed across five continents including concerts at Coachella, Newport Folk Festival, New Orleans Jazz Fest, Montreal Jazz Fest, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center. Their music weaves together American folk and rock with sensibilities from the Sahara Desert. "Billy Wylder's new recordings evoke musical evolutions built on grooves informed by ancient African rhythms, art-rock textures, expansive guitars, violins, synths, and drum machines." Salloway's lyrics flow with inspiration from mythical songwriting hero Leonard Cohen, while pulling together imagery reminiscent of Thom Yorke.

Billy Wylders' new album, Trying to Get Free, confronts many questions having to do with the idea of freedom, the American dream, and what real truth and importance is to people. The band acknowledges the courage behind following dreams and creating a sense of purpose in ones life while living in a world that constantly pushes fear, hatred, and division. This performance is meant to build community and togetherness, perfect for the celebration of Radically Rural!

All ages are welcome. Tickets are $20 and doors open at 7:00 p.m., music will begin by 8:00 p.m.! Seating is limited!
