Monday, 12/18: Meatballs with marinara sauce, tater tots, vegetable blend, sub roll, mandarins.
Tuesday 12/19: Fish stew, brown rice, green beans, multigrain bread, fruit whip or pineapple.
Wednesday 12/20: (Cold) Turkey Cobb salad, corn salad, pita bread, applesauce.
Thursday 12/21: Meatload with gravy, mashed potatoes, Brussels sprouts, oat bread, cake or Lorna Doone.
Friday 12/22: Chicken Alfredo, pasta, broccoli, whole wheat roll, chilled fruit.

The Winchendon Senior Center vans are available to Winchendon residents 55 years old and older, for local transportation to shopping, social events, medical appointments, and similar activities, with priority given to medical appointments. The van is available for longer distance medical runs to Worcester and surrounding towns. Please call the Senior Center at least 24 hours in advance to reserve the van.

The Senior Center is open Monday – Thursday, 8:30am to 2:30pm, and Friday, 9:00am to 1:00pm.

Winchendon Music Festival Performs at IHM on Dec 17

On Sunday, December 17, at 7:00 p.m., the Winchendon Music Festival will sponsor the Arcadia Players in performing Messe de minuit pour Noël (Midnight mass for Christmas) by Marc-Antoine Charpentier (1643-1704). WMF programs are free to the public, with support from several individuals, businesses, and foundations.

Arcadia Players is a professional period instrument ensemble based in Northampton, MA, which "embraces historical performance practice to illuminate and invigorate the great Western heritage of vocal and instrumental music." The Artistic Director of Arcadia Players is Andrew Arceci.

HEAL Winchendon Offering Financial Coaching Workshops

HEAL Winchendon, in conjunction with the Winchendon CAC, is offering a free financial coaching program to any residents who are interested. The program runs for eight weeks with a flexible schedule and is available in both English and Spanish. WINCHENDON / TEMPLETON REGIONAL ANIMAL CONTROL

Winchendon / Templeton Animal Control is seeking qualified candidates for a part time position as an Animal Control Officer (ACO). This position is for Mondays and Tuesdays from 7AM to 7PM with on call hours from 7PM to 7AM. Candidates should be self-motivated; able to communicate effectively with people; be able to compassionately and confidently handle distressed and occasionally vicious animals; type comprehensive reports; issue citations; and testify in court.
Experience is preferred but not required. New hires will receive on the job training as well as State mandated classes for animal control certification at no cost.
Candidates must have an active driver's license and pass a background check.

This position requires a highly diversified person with knowledge of but not limited to every phase of building construction, Kitchen/Bathroom remodeling, Facility-Property Maintenance, Basic plumbing, oil/propane and electric/ASHP heating systems, Basic electrical knowledge, and exterior/interior painting. Minimum landscaping skills must be, lawn planting and care, shrub planting and trimming, tree pruning and snow removal with both truck or tractor powered equipment and hand powered tools. This position requires an Active Massachusetts Drivers License with no more than a step 10 driving record. This person must be able to lift and move appliances or other items over 75 lbs repeatedly over a long duration. The Maintenance Mechanic/Carpenter will need to be on call for afterhours/weekend emergencies as required. Required qualifications are solid understanding of Massachusetts/International Building Code. Complete understanding of Facility and Property Maintenance. Preferred understanding of Microsoft Windows 10 operating system with Microsoft Office 365 software package, Internet systems.

The finalist must be able to pass a CORI/SORI review and Physical Fitness/Complete Drug Screening exam before hire. This is an hourly position working 40 hours per week. Resident Services Coordinator

Part time, 24 hours per week, $20/hour

The primary function of the Resident Services Coordinator (RSC) is to effectively assist in maintaining resident tenancy through a variety of programs enabling them to age in place.

Major responsibilities:
Welcome new residents, establish contact with existing residents and explain the resident services program and its offerings.
Assist residents who desire access to benefits and services and inform residents and provide support in accessing services successfully.
Develop relationships with local non-profit agencies, social service agencies/providers, residents and community.
Host monthly activities and educational programming with residents related to health and wellness by locating local providers/vendors to present on a variety of related topics.
Provide limited case management and advocacy for residents when services are not being provided by the general service community.
Plan and execute two social events every year with the property manager.
Work in collaboration with Templeton and Barre Housing Authorities.

Location and Commitments:
Templeton Housing Authority Monday and Wednesday (Friday if Monday is a holiday), 12hr/week.
Barre Housing Authority Tuesday and Thursday, 12 hr/week.
Keep a record of resident engagement and assistance provided.
Provide a brief report for the board of directors in Barre and Templeton each month.
Report to and work under the direction of Shaina Cunningham, Winchendon CAC Program Manager.
Required to complete certification by Massachusetts Association Resident Service Coordinators (MARSCH) within the first two years of employment.

Candidate Requirements:
Have a valid driver's license.
Excellent follow through and punctuality.
Have caseworker and advocacy experience.
Have experience working with people and a willingness to learn.
