Janet Gail Flanagan

JANET GAIL (MATTOS) FLANAGAN
May 22, 1948 ~ February 3, 2024 (Age 75)

Janet (Mattos) Flanagan, died at her home on Saturday, February 3, 2024, with her family by her side.

She was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend. But above all her most treasured role was being a doting grandmother.

She found joy in being part of her grandchildren's lives, whether that was watching them excel at school and sports or simply being in their presence. Some of her favorite pastimes include the family traditions of making pepper relish and rolls, quilting, and tea time with her girlfriends. During winter months, she could be found at her son's hockey and her daughter's skating events at the Clark Ice Rink.

Janet was born in Gardner on May 22, 1948. She was a 1966 Graduate of Murdock High School. She was a proud lifelong resident of Winchendon and retired from the Winchendon Public Schools in 2007.

She leaves her husband Brian Flanagan; son Anthony Delmonico and his wife Lynne, two daughters, Ashlee Santerre and her husband Jeffrey, and Kate Davieau and her husband Ben; five grandchildren, Logan, Jack, Parker, Lucy, and Charlotte; five sisters, Page-Ann Coleman and her husband Bob, Jackie Frantz, Nancy Labossiere, Susan Martin and her husband Randy, and Debra Daniels; and one brother, Michael Mattos.

She is predeceased by her parents, Manual and Patience (Meehan) Mattos, and a brother, William Mattos.

The family would like to thank Brandi Fontaine of Catholic Charities and the staff at Care Central VNA & Hospice.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
