Tom Petty Experience Band Comes To Park Theatre This Weekend

Fan favorite BEING PETTY band performs in Jaffrey on Sat, June 8

JAFFREY, New Hampshire (June 3, 2024) What would it be like if Tom Petty was still with us, performing with the Heartbreakers to this day? Now the fantasy comes to life, with Being Petty - the Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Experience. The band will perform on The Park Theatre stage in Jaffrey, NH this Saturday, June 8 at 7:30 p.m.

In early 2021, Bruce Hilton and Larry Ladrie embarked on a mission to create the ultimate Tom Petty tribute band, dedicated to sharing all the excitement and emotion of a live performance from the original band. The result is an assemblage of massively talented musicians/performers with a passion for the music, and the skills to pull it off.

After their first performance, they were invited to participate in the Legends Tribute show at the 8,000 seat Bank of NH Pavilion alongside some of the best tribute bands in the country.

Being Petty is more than just the average cover or tribute band. Audiences are awestruck by the flawless recreation of the look (accurate wardrobe, wigs and accessories), sound (authentic guitars, amps and drums) and feel of the original band. The live show now includes multimedia for a truly huge concert experience.

The Being Petty song list covers all phases of Tom Petty's incredible musical legacy, including all of the hit songs from the 1970s through the 2010s, plus some surprise "deep cuts" for the true fans.

At every show, during every song, Being Petty is committed to respecting the fans, and honoring the musical and cultural legacy of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

Tickets for Being Petty are $25 and all seats are reserved. Purchase by going to theparktheatre.org, calling the box office (603) 532-8888 or you can buy at the door. Doors to the theatre open at 6:30 p.m.

Coming Up at Nova Arts in Keene

Join us at Nova Arts in Keene this Friday and Saturday night for some incredible music and comedy!

Friday June 7 our Comedy Night is back! Mo Mussa burst onto the scene by beating out over one hundred comedians to win the 2021 Funniest Comic in New England Contest, was a finalist in the prestigious Boston Comedy Festival in 2023, and was selected as a Rising Star from Boston People Choice Awards. Fans love his wild jokes, high-octane stage presence and dynamic voice. He'll be joined by Jake Stromboli and Leanne Horvath.

Up next on Saturday June 8, we're welcoming two country groups: HWY 91, featuring Liza Constable and a few of the fellows from our Bluegrass session, and the Honey Steelers! HWY 91 plays Western Swing, a genre of music that evolved in the '20's and was in its heyday through the '50's, made popular by artists such as Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys. More recently there has been a resurgence in this style through the efforts of groups such as Asleep at the Wheel. This music could be described as a merging of jazz and country. All of the band members have diverse musical interests and play in other groups in a range of genres, but their common interest in Western Swing brought them together to form HWY 91.

Americana band, The Honey Steelers, turn every venue into a warm, cozy-dark countryside pub. Foot-stomping style and memory-calling lullabies are brought by a group of multi-instrumentalists each with their own flavor and eclectic tastes, offering originals as well as reimagined covers.

Doors are at 7:00 p.m., for Comedy Night we'll start the show right at 8:00, and for music, it will begin around 7:30 or so. The show is all ages and seating is first come first served. Tickets are available at novaarts.org/events, at Brewbakers / Terra Nova Coffee, or at the door.

North Central Massachusetts Development Corporation provides funding to support project in downtown Gardner through Regional Business Development Fund

Funding to Gardner Downtown Crossing, LLC, for development of residential apartments, restaurant

North Central Mass. - The North Central Massachusetts Development Corporation (NCMDC), the economic development arm of the North Central Massachusetts Chamber of Commerce, today announced it has provided $250,000 to Gardner Downtown Crossing, LLC, under the NCMDC's Regional Business Investment Fund (RBIF).

The funding will support the development of commercial space in a mixed-use building located at 25 Main Street in the city. The plans include six one-bedroom and eight two-bedroom apartments on the second and third floors, and a 5,000 square foot restaurant on the first floor.

Jonathan Bombaci, a redeveloper and owner of Gardner Downtown Crossing, is no stranger to redeveloping older, outdated buildings into modern apartments and commercial space in the city, as his team is currently redeveloping 2-10 Parker Street.

"The building at 25 Main Street is at the crossroads of downtown Gardner and provides much opportunity to develop living and dining spaces that will complement the current landscape while also providing the city with additional residents and visitors who will dine or call 25 Main their home in the future," said Bombaci. "The RBIF is a viable lending option for us to cover costs and expenses that are typically not available for financing, and we are grateful to the North Central Development Corporation and the Chamber for offering this type of loan to us."

The RBIF can be used by developers for engineering, soft costs, site work, infrastructure, and hard costs for specific developments in the 26 communities that make up the North Central region and differs from other loan programs offered through the NCMDC. The loans are very flexible and geared towards real estate projects, with flexible repayment terms, and can be used to cover soft costs and other expenses not traditionally covered by lenders. Also, unlike other loan programs, the RBIF can be used for housing projects and non-profits are also eligible.

The project has the support of City of Gardner Mayor Michael Nicholson and local officials, and is considered an important redevelopment project in the downtown area of the city.

"The team at Gardner Downtown Crossing has already made a significant investment in the downtown area and we are looking forward to working with them as they redevelop the property at 25 Main Street," said Mayor Nicholson. "We are grateful that Gardner Downtown Crossing sees Gardner as a place with tremendous opportunity for growth and we will be here to help assist them toward their success along the way."
