He has shared the stage with such legends as James Ingram, Arturo Sandoval, ?UESTLOVE, Sam Moore, Marylin McCoo, Curtis Fuller, Hank Jones, Clark Terry, and with such jazz greats as Brian Lynch, Billy Pierce, Kenny Washington, Annie Ross, Sheila Jordan, Gary Bartz, and Hugh Masekela.

Dan Bilawsky of Jazz Improv Magazine said, "The greatest attribute of this performance was their ability to make all of the songs feel good. Alex Minasian is a name to remember."

Alex Minasian brings his quartet of jazz talent from New York to Jaffrey's Park Theatre stage on Friday, March 11. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the acoustically acclaimed Eppes Auditorium. Reserved seats are $20 to $30.

Nova Arts is proud to continue in person entertainment at 48 Emerald St in Keene NH!

Friday, March 4 is Comedy night is back with Leanne Horvath hosting. Doors are at 7:00 p.m., laughs start at 8:00 p.m. On Saturday, March 5, rescheduled from last Friday, The Folksoul Band will be performing in celebration of Mardi Gras. Monday, March 7, singer songwriter Haley Heynderickx will be performing.

The Folksoul Band creates new music from old traditions, combining horns, vocals, wild rhythms, and New Orleans Mardi Gras spirit to create music for celebration and dancing. No other band sounds quite like this one, or makes music exactly like it. It is high-spirited music generated by the musicians and the instruments themselves, and it's an interesting assortment on both counts! The doors for this event open at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available on our website novaarts.org, under the "events" tab.

Haley Heynderickx grew up in a religious household in Oregon, closely identifying with her Filipino roots, but also straddling multiple cultural identities. Through soft acoustic guitar picking and deftly accented trombone sighs, Heynderickx's music immediately recalls folk music of the 60s and 70s mixed with a love of jazz radio. But Heynderickx's singing—her vocals that range from sultry to operatic—belie a tenacity in her soul. She is currently on tour opening for the Punch Brothers and is doing a couple of solo shows while she is in the area. Party of the Sun opens.

Tickets for these events and for The Thing in The Spring can be purchased on our website novaarts.org, under the "events" tab.

Please help us continue to provide live shows by wearing masks when moving about the space.

Nova Arts is supported by and under the fiscal sponsorship of Arts Alive.

Mount Grace's The Land Forever Campaign Reaches $3 Million Raised

Mount Grace Land Conservation Trust based in Athol, MA has now raised more than $3 million for The Land Forever campaign. Publicly launched in June 2021, The Land Forever campaign will help defend the 36,000 acres Mount Grace has protected while launching providing a foundation to protect the next 36,000 acres.

Mount Grace Board President Max Feldman explains, "We started this campaign with three goals: make sure we have enough resources to defend the land we've protected, expand our revolving loan fund so we are always ready to respond quickly when land needs to be conserved, and make sure we're working efficiently and sustainably."

Ensuring adequate resources to defend and take care of the thousands of acres Mount Grace has protected so far is the largest component of the campaign. "Stewardship of the land is paramount once it has been conserved and this endowment guarantees we can continue monitoring properties with conservation restrictions, creating and maintaining trails for public access, and managing forests sustainably," said Mount Grace Stewardship Manager Tessa Dowling.

Mount Grace's revolving loan fund, now named the Leigh Youngblood Conservation Opportunity Fund in honor of the trust's former long-time Executive Director, provides funds for initial investments to protect land in jeopardy. "Having funds available when properties are under threat ensures our capacity to move fast when necessary and to protect our region's uniquely diverse and spectacular landscape," said new Executive Director Emma Ellsworth. "Projects like the Greater Gales Brook Landscape Partnership which we are working on right now in Warwick, Orange, and Royalston would be almost impossible without the fund. It is perfect that this fund is named after Leigh, who shaped the land conservation movement through her capacity to collaborate, innovate, and make conservation happen."

The third aspect of The Land Forever is energy efficient renovations and restoration of the 1790s farmhouse that is Mount Grace's headquarters at Skyfields Arboretum. It will also fund construction of a new building built out of locally sourced wood to house the meeting space, event space, and additional workspaces for the increased size of the Mount Grace staff. Energy-efficiency renovations included insulation of the basement and attic, installation of energy-efficient windows, mini split heating and cooling system, and improved lighting. "We are excited that we were able to make these renovations a larger teaching moment by demonstrating how you can renovate a historic farmhouse while preserving its character and still remain within budget," said Mount Grace Communications and Engagement Coordinator Marielena Lima.

Mount Grace continues to fundraise for The Land Forever campaign with the end goal of $3.5 million almost met. To learn more about and support The Land Forever campaign, visit www.mountgrace.org/thelandforever.
