Nova Arts Events This Weekend

Come see what's going on at Nova Arts! Friday, June 3, will be another night in our Nova Comedy Night series featuring Jordan Jensen, Jeremy Furtado, and Peter Angelo. On Saturday, June 4, Brewbaker's own Jentri Jollimore will be playing. Finally on Sunday, June 5, Sam Moss will be performing.

Jordan Jensen started comedy in upstate NY before moving to Nashville TN, where she spent a year working for clubs and taking her comedy on the road in her pickup truck. In 2021, Jordan was named the first female comic to win "NY's Funniest Stand Up" at the NY Comedy Festival. Her comedy consists of tales of her bizarre upbringing, highly unconventional family, and filterless confessions of her time on this filthy planet.

Peter Angelo is a Connecticut based comic who brings a unique perspective to every show he is on. Will surprise and entertain crowds of all kinds from his dealings with blue collar jobs to navigating sexual orientation. Winner of the Connecticut comedy contest and finalist in New England's funniest comic.

Jeremy Furtado is a New England based comic making his way up and down the east coast. 20 years of bartending in an airport gives his energetic and often animated stage presence the feel of a cartoon character with a chip on his shoulder. Jeremy uses his mishaps and shortcomings to tell a story of his own life, weaving together his observations of the world and the people in it with insight and wit from a smart ass. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., show starts at 8:00 p.m. Recommended for mature audiences.

Jentri Jollimore commands an audience with both her songwriting prowess and her dad-joke adjacent, Massachusetts delivery of banter. Her voice is like an Atlantic Records soul singer visiting cousins in a Fitchburg punk basement; thick and smokey and talking directly to your heart. Former Coke Weed frontman and Admiral of the State of Maine, Milan McAlevey opens. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., show at 8:00 p.m.

Sam Moss is a songwriter and instrumentalist based in Staunton, Virginia. Shapes (2020) is the latest LP in his wide ranging discography, one which has been acclaimed by publications like The Boston Globe, NPR, The Wire, and Paste. Since 2014 he has been on the road playing hundreds of shows around the country, and occasionally opening for folks like Joan Shelley, Diane Cluck, and Doug Paisley. The Boston Globe said,"marvelous, resonating, magnetic stillness." Eleanor Buckland, of the amazing folk powerhouse trio Lula Wiles, kicks things off. Doors open at 7:00 p.m., show at 8:00 p.m.; come check it out!

Tickets for these events can be accessed on our website novaarts.org, under the event tab. Located at 48 Emerald St., Keene, NH.

Nova Arts is supported by and under the fiscal sponsorship of Arts Alive.
