Park Theatre Receives State Council on the Arts Grant

Grant provides funds to assist recovery from hardship due to the Covid-19 pandemic

JAFFREY, New Hampshire (June 28, 2022) The New Hampshire State Council on the Arts has awarded The Park Theatre a New Hampshire American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) Grant. The grant provides funds to assist recovery from hardship due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Funded by the National Endowment for the Arts and administered through the State Council on the Arts, ARPA supports salary and facilities costs of nonprofit cultural organizations affected by the pandemic. The funding recognizes that the nonprofit arts industry is an essential sector of New Hampshire's economy and that financial support is necessary to help save jobs and keep operations functioning for organizations that add value to the creative life of our communities.

The new Park Theatre is a reconstruction of the historic Theatre that was the entertainment center of community life for three generations. Opened in the summer of 2021, the new Park Theatre is a regional center for the arts and entertainment, presenting a variety of music, live stage and film in its two auditoriums, showcasing local and regional performers and bringing nationally known artists to our region. The Theatre also provides quality rental facilities and supports community events such as Veteran's Day, Martin Luther King Jr Day and St. Patrick's Day. For upcoming events, visit the website, www.theparktheatre.org, and follow the Park Theatre on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter.

Established in 1965 as the official state arts agency, the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts works throughout the state to enhance the quality of life in New Hampshire by stimulating economic growth through the arts, investing in the creativity of students, making the arts accessible to underserved populations, and preserving heritage arts.

The Park Theatre performing arts center is located at 19 Main Street in downtown Jaffrey, New Hampshire.
