Jaffrey St. Patrick's Parade Set For March 11

3rd annual parade of the green is back with more floats, marching bands, marchers, and surprises than ever before

JAFFREY, New Hampshire (March 7, 2023) It's all green again in Jaffrey this Saturday, March 11. The Jaffrey St. Patrick's Parade returns to Main Street after Covid and weather-related cancellations.

The St. Patrick's parade was inaugurated in 2018 by a small group of St. Paddy fans led by Jaffrey resident and real estate business owner Kevin Hampsey. The first year was very successful, and the second parade in 2019 was heralded as the second largest attended St. Patrick's parade in the state after Manchester. Sadly, Covid mandated a cancellation in 2020 and 2021. Last year, bad weather forced the parade to be canceled.

However, the parade is back with more participants, floats, marching bands, military marchers, and dancers than ever before. Over 30 different groups will be marching. Highlights include the Keene American Legion Band, the 1st Revolutionary War Regiment, New Hampshire Fife & Drum, the Flying Irish Dancers, the Conant High School Concert Band, 2 master bagpipers, and the Masonic High School Marching Band.

The parade begins at 2pm on Saturday, March 11, in front of St. Patrick Parish at 87 Main Street in Jaffrey. The parade winds its way east on Main Street and ends in downtown Jaffrey.

The parade is managed and produced by The Park Theatre, with Mr. Hampsey acting as parade producer.

At 12:30pm the theatre will begin selling brats, hot dogs, chili, sodas, popcorn, and candies outside their front doors. St. Patrick's Day bracelets, buttons, and pins will also be for sale. The theatre's Lounge bar also opens at 12:30pm and will be open for the afternoon & evening, offering Guinness, and Murphy Stout as well as wines and other beers.

The parade is part of The Park Theatre's Shamrock Fest Week. A concert featuring Celtic rock band Waking Finnegan will take place at 7:30pm on the same day of the parade. More information about Shamrock Fest can be found at shamrockfest.org or by calling the box office at (603) 532-8888.

Shamrock Fest 2023 is sponsored by Red's of Jaffrey, Monadnock Disposal Services, and WKNE Radio.

A snow/rain date for the parade is set for March 19.

The Park Theatre performing arts center is located at 19 Main Street in downtown Jaffrey, New Hampshire. The facility is fully accessible.

Retired Boston Legends, Brady, Ortiz, Garnett, and Rask Have Unclaimed Property

Athletes retire but unclaimed property doesn't at Findmassmoney.com

Boston (March 3, 2023) - Today Massachusetts State Treasurer Deborah B. Goldberg has announced the latest grouping of names added to the state's list of unclaimed property owners, and fortunately for you this is one shot that Tuukka Rask can't stop.

Over 50,000 new properties worth millions of dollars belong to individuals and businesses throughout the Commonwealth including Tom Brady, David Ortiz, Kevin Garnett, and Tuukka Rask.

This is no Hail Mary pass; it is more of a slam dunk when you visit findmassmoney.com. One in ten Massachusetts residents are owed money. And unlike athletes that retire, your unclaimed property is always on the roster.

"As Tom Brady likes to say, let's go!" said State Treasurer Deborah B. Goldberg. "And to quote Kevin Garnett after winning the 2008 NBA Championship, anything is possible...especially when you visit findmassmoney.com."

Unclaimed property includes forgotten savings and checking accounts, un-cashed checks, insurance policy proceeds, stocks, dividends, and the contents of unattended safe deposit boxes. These accounts have had too much hang time and are turned over to the state after three years of inactivity. This newly released list includes only individuals and businesses with unclaimed property over $100.

All new individuals and businesses added to the unclaimed property list will be published in the Boston Globe on March 5th and will be in the Boston Herald on March 12th. In addition, the names will be published in over 30 regional and local papers.

So, if you are looking to hit "one out of the pahk", remember that Treasury releases an updated list of unclaimed property assets every six months as the new accounts are turned over to the Commonwealth. Last year, Treasury processed over 151,000 claims of over $176 million in property to its rightful owners.

This newly released list includes only individuals and businesses with unclaimed property over $100. Treasurer Goldberg urges all citizens to check the comprehensive list for all amounts at www.findmassmoney.com or call our live call center at 888-344-MASS (6277).
