Kazoo Caroling Choir with Girl & Boy Scouts at Dickens Fest with Free Kazoos!

Park Theatre in Jaffrey presents a kazoo caroling choir concert as part of New England Dickens Fest

JAFFREY, New Hampshire (November 30, 2023) It will be a different type of holiday caroling event at The Park Theatre in Jaffrey on Saturday, December 9 at 12:30 pm. Think kazoos! A group of of over a dozen girl and boy scouts has been assembled to form a "Kazoo Caroling Choir" as part of The Park's New England Dickens Fest.

The concert will start with the choir playing some all time favorite Christmas carols and songs. Then, the first 100 people attending will receive a free kazoo. The audience will be asked to join in with the choir for a festive and memorable musical collaboration.

The event will be held in front of the theatre at 19 Main Street in downtown Jaffrey. If there are weather issues, it will be held in the theatre lobby. The event is free.

New England Dickens Fest is made possible through an underwriting sponsorship by M&T Bank. The official media sponsor is WKNE Radio. The festival runs from December 6 - 10.

Nova Arts is pleased to host some soulful voices and danceable jams by My Neighbor George and Moshi!

KEENE, NH - Join us on Saturday, December 9, at 7:00 p.m. at 48 Emerald St, Keene, NH! My Neighbor George is a new Worcester-based band made up of musically driven college students and recent grads of Clark University. Their influences are drawn from various artists, pulling all sorts of sounds from each member's background.

My Neighbor George began showcasing their vocal harmonies and smooth instrumental solos around Worcester in the fall of 2022, stringing in versions of R&B, Rock, and Soul songs. The band is comprised of Georgia Parsons (vocals), Kaya Middleton-Grant (vocals), Liliana Colon (vocals), Max Sormanti-Bloom (guitar), Griffin Temple (guitar), Josh Oduro (bass), and Will Verde (drums).

Moshi is a four-piece R&B fusion outfit based in Worcester, Massachusetts. The 2023 Worcester Music Awards' "Best Jazz Act" winners play vintage 70s-inspired soul ballads and upbeat dance tracks incorporating jazz, rock, reggae, and hip-hop. The lead singles for the group's upcoming debut album, "Marathon", were recently released and can be found on all major streaming platforms.

A Moshi show invites all to dance, celebrate, and embrace the duality of love and heartbreak. The band has played many shows across New England in clubs, bars, festivals, and private events, so get ready to move your body!

Doors are open at 7:00 p.m. and music begins at 8:00 p.m. The show is for all ages and tickets are $20!

KEENE, NH - Everyone is encouraged to join us on Friday, December 15 at 48 Emerald St in Keene, NH for a country Christmas singalong spectacular! Nova Arts is hosting an exciting night of family and holiday fun! The Sweetback Sisters are bringing their modern take on the golden age of country music. This show is delivered with trivia, prizes, and holiday tunes and is for sure something you don't want to miss!

The Sweetback sisters and their band of brothers are widely known for their family-style harmonies and dazzling instrumentals. For this show, the Queens of Christmastime put their signature twist on holiday classics and hidden gems that are sure to get even your scroogiest uncle in a festive spirit. Songbooks and plenty of warm fuzzy feelings provided.

Nova Arts is pleased to have Odds Bodkin back to tell his story of Norse Mythology!

KEENE, NH - Join us on Saturday, December 16, at 7 p.m. at 48 Emerald St, Keene, NH, as Master Storyteller and Musician Odds Bodkin is coming to Keene to tell the story of "Odin & Thor Battle the Frost Giants"! Bodkin tells his tales with 12-string guitar scores and Celtic harp musings, with character voices and vocal effects. Experience magic and illusion right on Nova Arts' stage.

Since 1982, Odds Bodkin has used his professional storyteller expertise to sound dramatic voices, vocal effects, narratives, and live music to create unique and visionary entertainment for audiences. He has designed hundreds of stories that range from a four-hour version of The Odyssey to children's musicals.

A published children's author and award-winning recording artist, he has toured Great Britain, performed twice at The White House, been called "a consummate storyteller" by The New York Times for his Off-Broadway shows at Lincoln Center and been a Featured Teller at the National Storytelling Festival. His work has won Parents' Choice, Indie, Golden Headset, Storytelling World, Pick of the Lists, Editors' Choice, and Dove awards. All are strongly encouraged to witness this performance!
