The Winchendon Senior Center vans are available to Winchendon residents 55 years old and older, for local transportation to shopping, social events, medical appointments, and similar activities, with priority given to medical appointments. The van is available for longer distance medical runs to Worcester and surrounding towns. Please call the Senior Center at least 24 hours in advance to reserve the van.

The Senior Center is open Monday – Thursday, 8:30am to 2:30pm, and Friday, 9:00am to 1:00pm.

  • Line dancing classes every Tuesday morning at 10:00 a.m.
  • Yoga every Tuesday at 11:00 a.m.

Winchendon Musician Bob Jordan Launches 2024 Season

Winchendon musician Bob Jordan will be performing at over 50 Farmer's Markets this 2024 season, at over a dozen locations in North Central Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire.

"I'm very lucky to be able to play so often during the day at outdoor locations", says Jordan, whose 500-song repertoire includes Folk, Rock, Country, R'n'B, novelties and original songs. Each 2-3 hour Market allows Bob to play from 40 to 60 songs per Gig, with new songs being added weekly.

At the Holden, Templeton, Phillipston and Ashburnham Markets, Jordan is the only entertainer for the whole season.

The music is financed by customer tips, with support from the Markets and Local Cultural councils (Holden,Rutland, West Boylston, Templeton, Royalston, Phillipston, Orange, Westminster, and Petersham) administered by the Mass Cultural Council (with funds supplied by the purchase of Lottery tickets.)

HEAL Winchendon Offering Financial Coaching Workshops

HEAL Winchendon, in conjunction with the Winchendon CAC, is offering a free financial coaching program to any residents who are interested. The program runs for eight weeks with a flexible schedule and is available in both English and Spanish. MWCC's Theater on the Mount Holds Casting Call for August Show, "Prom"

Four fading Broadway stars are in desperate need of a new stage. So, when they hear that trouble is brewing around a small-town Indiana prom--and the press is involved--they know it's time to put a spotlight on the issue...and themselves. The town's parents want to keep the dance on the straight and narrow--but when one student just wants to bring her girlfriend to prom, the entire town has a date with destiny. Now, Broadway's brassiest are coming to join the fight and they are ready to kick-ball-change the world.

BARRY GLICKMAN: 30s–50s, High Baritone/Low Tenor. A very gay Broadway star. Completely politically incorrect and doesn't know it. Impulsive and loves to make a scene everywhere he goes. Strong singer. Big, Broadway belter. PRINCIPAL.

DEE DEE ALLEN: 30s–50s, Alto. A current Broadway diva. A huge ego to match her huge talent. No filter. Hilariously self-involved but yearns to do something good for someone other than herself. Strong Singer. Big, Broadway belter. PRINCIPAL.

TRENT OLIVER: 30s–40s, Baritone. A pretentious Broadway star who is probably better known for TV infomercials. Loves the sound of his own voice. Strong singer, pop, and legit. PRINCIPAL. EMMA: 14+ to play a high school senior. Mix/belt up to a C#. Forced into the spotlight because she asked her girlfriend to the prom. A reluctant poster child for gay / lesbian youth. Very smart but may not be classically beautiful. A bit of a tomboy quality. Sweet pop voice. Strong singer. PRINCIPAL.

ALYSSA: 14+ to play a high school senior, Mix/belt up to a D. Tries desperately to fit in. A cheerleader. Secretly Emma's girlfriend, but afraid to come out. May be classically pretty. Afraid to stand up to her mother. Pop voice. Strong singer. PRINCIPAL.

MR. HAWKINS: 30s–50s, High Baritone. A small-town principal. Easily flustered. Strait-laced. A Broadway enthusiast. Good singer. PRINCIPAL.

ANGIE: 30s–40s, Alto with a belt. An ensemble member in the Broadway production of “Chicago”. Jaded Fosse girl with a heart of gold. Strong Singer. PRINCIPAL.

MRS. GREENE: 30s–40s, Alto. Alyssa's Mother and the school board president. Very strong, controlling, and intimidating. Loves her daughter very much but has a very specific view of what is right and wrong for her daughter and the school. Strong Singer. PRINCIPAL

SHELDON SAPERSTEIN: 30s–40s, Baritone. A charismatic press agent. Traditional musical theatre sound. PRINCIPAL.

Snowbound Club Inc Presents Black Diamond 40th Anniversary & Armed Forces Day Commemorative Music Festival 3:00-10:30 p.m. A full day of 7.5 hours of great entertainment.
