Gilbert F. Cheries

GILBERT F. CHERIES
June 24, 1946 ~ January 19, 2021 (Age 68)

FITCHBURG: Gilbert F. Cheries, 74, of Sebastian, FL and Winchendon, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 in the Rockledge Regional Medical Center in Rockledge, FL.

Gil was born in Fitchburg on June 24, 1946 a son of the late Michael and Evelyn (Leger) Cheries and resided there most of his life before moving to Winchendon and Florida.

He graduated from Fitchburg High School and shortly thereafter went to work as an electrician. Through the years he mastered his trade and worked for Burgess Electric in Westminster and Eyles Electric in Fitchburg. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 96.

Gil enjoyed spending many leisurely trips on his boat and the warmth of the Florida sun. He also liked the companionship of friends and family and his loyal dog Jake. He enjoyed many active hobbies throughout his life.

He leaves a son Glenn Cheries of Westminster; a daughter Nadine Cheries of Baldwinville; a brother Wayne Cheries and his wife Susan of Ashburnham; four grandchildren Gianna, Gabriella, Dominic, and Garrett; his longtime companion, Karen Sawyer; a nephew, Erik Cheries; a niece, Nicole Racki and her husband Steve, great-nephews and great–nieces.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday, October 24, 2021, from 2 to 5 in the Isabelle & Anderson Funeral Home.

Clifford W. Wells

CLIFFORD W. WELLS
October 2, 1962 ~ October 26, 2021 (Age 59)

WINCHENDON - Clifford W. Wells, 59, of 22 Maynard Street, died unexpectedly Tuesday, October 26, 2021 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.

He was born in Peterborough, NH on October 2, 1962, son of Charles E. Wells Jr of Winchendon and the late Marietta (Knight) Wells. Cliff grew up in Fitchburg and had lived in Winchendon for several years.

Cliff worked in maintenance at Community Health Connections in Fitchburg for many years. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family. He particularly enjoyed playing baseball, hockey, bowling, fishing and cribbage with family members and friends.

In addition to his father, he leaves four children, Christopher Lippucci of Leominster, Shawn Wells and wife April of Fitchburg, Nicole Malcolm and husband Robert of Leominster and Michael Wells and wife Samaris of Fitchburg; 13 grandchildren; brothers, Charles S. Wells and wife Rosalind of Indiana and Maurice C. Wells and late wife Kelly of Ashburnham; sisters, Linda L. Shampine and her late husband Kenneth of Winchendon, Lori L. Lariviere and her late husband Roger Sr. of Gardner and Claire A. Legree and husband Roger of Winchendon and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves his significant other, Amy Johnson of Shirley and their dog Max.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. A calling hour will precede the funeral from 10 to 11 A.M.

Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.

Jennifer Fox

JENNIFER (SULLIVAN) FOX
August 2, 1987 ~ October 13, 2021 (Age 34)

Manchester, NH - Jennifer J. (Sullivan) Fox, 34, of Manchester, NH passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday October 13, 2021. She was born August 2, 1987 in Peterborough, NH to parents John and Kimberly (Geiselman) Sullivan.

Jennifer graduated from Mascenic High School in the class of 2005. She went on to work in the automotive field. She loved listening to music, some of her favorite genres were big band and rock and roll. She enjoyed playing trivia games and was an avid reader. She was a great cook and she found great joy in feeding others. She had a great set of values and anyone who knew who said she was very loving and caring. She will be deeply missed.

Jennifer is survived by her sons Asher Lake, Killin Sullivan, Kieran Sullivan; her brothers Patrick Sullivan of Winchendon, MA and Michael Sullivan of Greenville, NH; her sister Andrea Lake and her husband John of Keene, NH.

Family and friends were warmly welcomed to attend calling hours at the Michaud Funeral Home 32 Maple St. Wilton, NH on Friday, October 22, 2021, from 6-8pm. A funeral mass was held the following day, Saturday October 23 at Sacred Heart Church, 15 High St. Greenville, NH at 10am followed by a burial at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Jacqueline Paula Hautanen

JACQUELINE PAULA HAUTANEN
Octoiber 28, 1939 ~ October 16, 2021 (Age 81)

Jacqueline Paula (Dufault) Hautanen, 81, of Fitzwilliam, New Hampshire (formerly Jaffrey) passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 16, 2021 after a brief illness.

Jacqueline (Jackie) was born in Winchendon, MA, October 28, 1939, to Paul and Louise (Houle) Dufault. The family home was in Winchendon, MA. Jackie was the second daughter born into the family joining her big sister and lifelong best friend Joanne (Jo) Darling. Jackie attended the Winchendon schools and graduated from Murdock High School.

Jackie spent many years in Rindge, NH, living in West Rindge across from Ed's Auction, where she raised her family of three boys always putting them first in her life. She also loved cooking for her boys and enjoyed feeding all the neighborhood kids a hearty meal always with homemade baked treats. Cooking was her passion and she was a very accomplished cook, mastering even the most difficult recipes. Her husband, James (Jim) Hautanen was also a grateful recipient of her cooking talents. After retiring from Millipore Corporation (18-years of service), Jackie would be in the kitchen preparing an elaborate dish or reading through cookbooks or clipping recipes from magazines. Her pantry was continuously well stocked with ingredients for creating any recipe you could imagine.

In retirement, Jackie spent her days traveling with Jim on the touring motorcycle, in the kitchen cooking or with her grandchildren, whom she adored. Jackie “Gram” had a special relationship with each of her grandchildren and was active in their daily lives. She enjoyed spending many hours behind the wheel driving her grandchildren to school or appointments or team practices. When they needed something, they could always count on Gram.

Jackie was avidly devoted to animals. Homeless cats or rescue dogs were always welcome in her home. She adopted pet rabbits and birds and even goats. She shared this love of animals with her sons and her grandchildren. Just like her family, no animal went hungry when Jackie was around.

Jackie is survived by her sons Chris Bartlett and his wife Julia, Cory Bartlett, and Jonathan Bartlett and his wife D'Ann. She is also survived by her sister Joanne (Dufault) Darling and her husband Charles. Jackie has eight (8) grandchildren: Amanda and Dylan Bartlett, Dawson Luoma, Colby, Elijah, and Jackson Bartlett, William Lary and Noah Bartlett. Jackie was predeceased by her husband James (Jim) Hautanen (2014).

A burial service will be planned for Conant Cemetery, Jaffrey, NH, in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Monadnock Humane Society, 101 W Swanzey Road, Swanzey, NH 03446.

Richard A. Gordon

RICHARD A. GORDON
November 20, 1943 ~ October 21, 2021 (Age 77)

WINCHENDON - Richard A. Gordon, 77, of Winchendon, died Thursday evening, October 21, 2021 in Heywood Hospital, Gardner.

He was born in Winchendon on November 20, 1943, son of the late Joseph C. and Emeline R. (Gauthier) Gordon and was a 1962 graduate of Murdock High School. After a career of 20 years as a salesman for Sears and Roebuck, Dick returned to school to pursue a career as a barber and graduated in 1989 from Rob Roy Barbering Academy.

Dick owned and operated Dick's Place Barber Shop in Winchendon for 25 years. He proudly served in the Army National Guard. Dick was a member and Past Master of Artisan Lodge of Masons and was a member of Winchendon Rod and Gun Club and Eugene M. Connor Post 193 American Legion. Dick attended the United Parish.

He leaves his wife of 59 years, Nancy J. (Spaulding) Gordon; two children, Karla Cloutier and David Gordon; a brother, Bruce W. Gordon of Gloucester; two sisters, Elaine Mattson of Winchendon and Dawn Haskins of Templeton; six grandchildren, Kory Dunton, Amanda Gordon, Sam Gordon, Scott Cloutier, Jaclyn Cloutier and Amber Cloutier; three great grandchildren, Nekelle Ferguitto, Anthony Burdell and Freya White and several nieces and nephews. Two daughters, Laura Ann Gordon and Leeann Marie Gordon, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 29, 2021 at 11 A.M. in Stone-Ladeau Funeral Home, 343 Central Street, Winchendon. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.

Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 5 to 7 P.M. Members of Artisan Lodge of Masons will conduct a Masonic Funeral Service at 6:30 P.M.

HELEN BUCKNER
July 15, 1932 ~ October 24, 2021 (Age 89)

Baldwinville - Helen Nancy (Marchant) Buckner, 89, died on Sunday, October 24, 2021 in the Alliance Health Center, Baldwinville. Helen was born in Fitchburg on July 15, 1932 daughter of Albert and Jennie (Anderson) Marchant. She was raised in Fitchburg and Lunenburg graduating from Lunenburg High School Class of 1951. On April 13, 1952 she married Keith Buckner, who died in 2003, and they moved to California where they lived for many years until they returned to the area settling in Westminster.

For many years she worked at Burbank Hospital in the Medical Records Department and then worked for several years at the Birch Hill Rehabilitation Hospital in Dublin N.H. before retiring. She attended the Assembly of God Church and attended Ladies Bible Study in Fitchburg. Helen loved the Lord. She enjoyed knitting, making hats and scarves for her grandchildren.

Helen is survived by her three children; Daniel and his wife Terri Buckner of Baldwinville, Cynthia and her husband Vaugh Weber of Baldwinville and Coleen and her husband Jay Beauvais of Winchendon, two brothers; David Marchant of Westminster and Robert Marchant of Kennedy Texas, one sister Edith Snyder of St. George Utah, 8 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters; Louise Rocker, Elizabeth Gilchrest and Irene Hulsman.

Funeral services under the direction of Stephen Moorcroft, Lavery, Chartrand, Alario Funeral Home Fitchburg will be held Saturday October 30, 2021 at 11:00am in the Bread of Life Church, 22 State Road E., Westminster. A calling hour will be held from 10 until 11am in the church. Burial will follow in Woodside Cemetery, Westminster.
